"A few things more before we enter these songs of Kabir.

Religion is not traditional -- cannot be by its very nature. Tradition is that which is dead. Tradition is that which has passed away, tradition is just the dust of the past, tradition is just the memory. Religion is always alive, breathing. Religion can never be traditional. Whenever religion becomes traditional, it serves the Devil more than God. Then it serves death more than life. Then it serves politicians, priests, organizations, churches, but it doesn't serve the spirit of man. Then it is no more an opening towards the future. Tradition looks back; we have to go forward. Looking backward is meaningless; not only meaningless, but harmful too, dangerous -- because we cannot go backwards, we have to go forwards, and looking backwards and moving forwards is bound to create trouble.

The second thing: religion is not in the scriptures, cannot be. Scriptures are dead letters. Yes, there was religion some day, throbbing in those words when they were being uttered by an alive Master. When Krishna told Srimat Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna, it was alive. It was alive because of Krishna, it was illuminated because of Krishna -- when Krishna disappeared, the Bhagavad Gita became a corpse. Dead words: you can go on analyzing those words, interpreting this way and that... There are one thousand commentaries on the Gita -- famous ones; there are many more. In fact, whenever anybody reads the Gita, he has his own meaning of it. Krishna's meaning is lost; it disappeared with Krishna himself. The snake has passed... only the track on the sand is left. That track you go on worshipping as a scripture.

When Jesus walked on earth and talked to his disciples, it was a throbbing truth, throbbing with life -- alive, vibrating, pulsating. The word was not dead; the word was God, the word was truth itself. The word had a heart in it. The word was suffused with love, experience, existence, being. When Jesus has gone, life is gone. Then you can collect words and you can make as many gospels as you want. Those gospels are going to be of no help.

Real religion is never in the scriptures. And a real religious seeker does not go in search of scriptures, he goes in search of a Master -- a living Master. That is one of the basic tenets of Kabir's understanding: SATGURU -- the living Master. Go and search for a living Master! If you can come in contact with a living Master then dead scriptures will become alive again. They become alive only VIA the living Master -- there is no other way, because  the living Master is the only scripture. When the living Master touches the Bhagavad Gita it will become alive; when he touches the gospel, the gospel will become alive. When he recites the Koran, the Koran will again become alive. He will give his own life to these words, they will start throbbing. But directly you cannot find religion in the scriptures.

So religion is not in the tradition and religion is not in the scriptures and religion is not in the rituals. Rituals are formalities. Unless you are in communion with a living Master, rituals are a dead weight. They will burden you, they will dry you, they will kill you, and you will be lost in infinite formalities. With a living Master, a new ritual is born. It comes out of the contact; it has a context to it, a living reference to it. It is not learned by dead tradition being transferred from one generation to another. You live it -- and through living it, you learn it.

When you come to a living Master, deep down something in you wants to bow down. It is not that you are going to do a certain formality -- if you are doing, it is meaningless. But something really down in your spirit, deep in your spirit, deep in your center, wants to bow down. Then bowing to a Master is no more ritualistic. It is alive, it is meaningful, it is not an empty gesture. But you can just go on bowing down to anybody, because you have been taught to bow down -- then it is useless.  Try to see the difference. When something is born into you out of your spontaneity, then it is true. When you have to do something as a duty, it is untrue. `Duty' is a dirty word. If something is born out of love, good. If something is born out of duty, avoid it, never do it -- because that is dangerous. If you learn the ways of duty too much, you will forget the ways of love. Duty is against love. Duty is a false substitute for love.

Religion is not in the rituals. Of course, whenever there is religion there is ritual -- but that is a totally different matter. How can you avoid when Buddha walks amongst you, how can you avoid touching his feet? Impossible. You can do only two things and both are rituals: either you have to touch his feet, or you have to throw stones at him. Both are rituals -- one is that of the enemy and one is that of the friend, but both are rituals. You cannot neglect Buddha, you cannot be indifferent, that's all. The phenomenon is such that you cannot just bypass. Either you have to become a friend or you have to become an enemy; you have to choose. You have to have an attitude -- that attitude is ritual. But then it is born into your heart, not learned from somebody else. It simply arises in your being.

Religion, wherever it is, always brings rituals; but when the religion disappears, the rituals become dead. Don't carry the corpse. Yes, you loved your mother very much and now she is dead -- what are you going to do? Are you going to carry her corpse for your whole life? You have to burn it or bury it. You have to get rid of it, you cannot go on carrying it. But this same thing happens as far as religion is concerned. You loved the Buddha so much, and great passion arose in your soul, and great worship and great songs were born in his presence... now he is gone, you continue the song. By and by, it is a far away echo of the echo... goes on fading.

When the pope speaks in the Vatican, it is not Jesus' voice at all -- cannot be. When Jesus speaks, he speaks on his own authority. When the pope speaks, he speaks on the authority of Jesus. A real Master speaks on his own authority, he is his sole authority.

Religion is not in the tradition, not in the rituals, and NOT in the so-called religions -- Hindu, Christian, Mohammedan. Religion has no adjective to it. Religion is simply religion, as love is love. Do you call love Christian, Hindu, Mohammedan? If love is neither Christian nor Hindu nor Mohammedan, then why should God be Christian, Hindu and Mohammedan? Has not Jesus said `God is Love'? Religion is not in the religions; religion is pure of all adjectives, pure of all definitions, and each one has to seek it. Nobody can be born into a religion, religion has to be born into you. You have to open your soul and receive religion. It is showering all around... but you are carrying toys, substitutes, false coins, in your hands, and thinking you are having religion. In the church it is not, in the mosque it is not, in the temple it is not. Go somewhere where a living Master is: it is there. And that too exists only for a few moments -- the Master is gone, and the religion disappears.

Hence Kabir's insistence for a SATGURU -- for a true Master

Religion is individual, one has to seek it on one's own. It is not a social phenomenon, it has nothing to do with the crowd and the collective. It is a private thing, as intimate as love. You come to it alone, in deep intimacy, privacy... you open your heart. Religion is spontaneous in the sense that you cannot learn it. You can be it, but you cannot learn it. It is as spontaneous as love. Have you ever learnt what love is?And that day will be a doomsday, when man will have to learn how to love. That day seems to be coming closer every day, in the West particularly, and more particularly in America. Books are being written: How to Love, How to be Friendly -- foolish books, because if man has forgotten how to love, no book can teach it. To teach humanity how to love is as if somebody goes to the fish and teaches the fish to swim -- that will be foolish. And so is the case with religion. Religion cannot be taught, it can only be caught; it is a sort of infection. You can go wherever a holy person exists and you can catch it, you can imbibe it.

Religion is a rebellion. It is a rebellion against death, it is rebellion against all that is dead; it is rebellion against the outside: it is rebellion against politics, greed, society, culture, civilization. Religion is a rebellion: it says we have to listen to the innermost core of our being and follow it wherever it leads. Wherever... unafraid of the consequences, we will listen to the small still voice within and follow it. Religion is a risk. Those people who are after security too much can never become religious; it is a dangerous thing. If you pass through it, you will be passing through a crucifixion... but only after the crucifixion is resurrection."

The egg is a common alchemical symbol. The retort, the alchemists’ bulb-shaped vessel, was called the Philosopher’s egg. It was used for gentle distillation and cohobation and could be hermetically sealed, so that the various materials inside could incubate. The egg was, more importantly, perceived as an image of the universe, the macrocosmos.

THE ANTAHKARANA OF JOHN DEE

John Dee, a British alchemist and mathematician who wrote the Monas hieroglyphica in 1564, wrote about the monad (unity) underlying the universe as expressed in a hieroglyph or symbol. He connected the symbol of the monad to the process of alchemical transmutation and found elements of transformation arranged along orbital lines in the egg, according to the corresponding placement of their ruling planets. He delineated the egg into a central “yolk” made up of the Sun, Mars and Venus (the metals gold, iron and copper) and a “white” made up of Jupiter, Saturn, Luna and Mercury (the metals tin, lead, silver and quicksilver)…Material tranformation took place when the “yolk” enveloped the “white” through a process of “rotation.”

THE DEE CIRCULATION OF THE ENERGIES ABOVE, ALL THE PLANETS IN A LINE, HIGHER AND HIGHER, ALONG THE ANTAHKARANA. THIS IS PYTHAGORAS´S MUSIC OF THE SPHERES, OR PLANETS, OR CHAKRAS OUT OF THE BODY, TO WHICH WE ARE CONNECTED. WE ASCEND, OUT OF THE BODY TO ACCESS HIGHER AND HIGHER CHAKRAS TO WHICH WE ARE CONNECTED. THIS MAP SHOWS HOW WE HUMAN BEINGS CONNECT INTO THE HIGHER AND HIGHER ENERGIES OF THE UNIVERSE. Dee further symbolized this process with a spiral derived from Arabic alchemy, where “turning the screw” was used to describe transformation. The spiral described and contained circles, and the circle was conceived as a hermetically sealed space in which transformation could take place. In reality, this is a picture of the chakras outside the body below the base and above the head, connecting us with our soul and energy centers even higher than that, the Monad, The Logos, Sirius and the Avatar of Synthesis all the way to the energy in the center of the universe. As the screw is turned, we access higher and higher, one chakra at a time.

Dogen spent three years at Tien-túng, entering whole heartedly into zazen practice.

One day during meditation, Tendo Nyojo shouted at a sleeping monk, "When you study under a Master, you must drop body and mind!"

For Dogen, seated right beside this monk the shouted words, ¨Drop body and mind!" precipitated a profound experience.

He made his way to the Abbots quarters and burned incence in awe and gratitude, and, after a brief exchange, Tendo Nyojo confirmed that his young Japanese disciple had indeed, "Dropped Body and Mind."

The only way to perceive that we are mainly using the body as our vehicle is to drop it. To get out of it. Higher, along the ANTAHKARANA.

We can always choose to come back to it. We can choose when to die, dropping the body like a suit of old clothes.

Ancient books are full of this leaving the body and entering into the body of another, or choosing when to die.

We can choose to enter into the body of another as Lao Tsu chose to do when his first body wore out and he entered into another body in another land and became another enlightened sage.

We can choose to enter into the body of another as the Buddha did in order to gain experience, he entered into the body of a king who had just died for a month, and then dropped that body in order to enter back into his own body.

I was very happy with Zen Master Hogen. Every Day as soon as I got out of bed, for many years, I would meditate.

 But strangely I found more and more that I was getting thrown out of bed every morning by him so I could meditate.

And he was connected to me, "Can you feel my breeze blowing? Even from Ten Thousand Miles!" I had the vision several times of him polishing my base chakra whilst I was sitting in meditation.

And then, after many years of work, zazen, meditation, with Zen master Hogen I meditated on the Koan of Ramana Maharshi, "Who am I"

Immediately I had the experience of travelling along the Antahkarana out of the body to a place where was all my past lives hanging in space thousands of them in a neat matrix. I decided to enter into one of them and saw that past life gaining much experience. I then decided to go higher. There too I gained much experience.

When I went to Hogen in Dokusan with this experience, after I told him about the past lives he said, "We can explore this area of the astral plane for 10,000 years and get nowhere!" Then I told him about going higher and he smiled! And in another space I saw his aura expanding, gold, and enfolding me in the energy of his love...

After this I was allowed to find another Master...

SATCHIDANAND MEETS SWAMI SATCHIDANANDA FOR THE FIRST TIME

So when a friend asked me if I wanted to go to London to meet Swami Satchidananda I was hesitant. But they persuaded me to go. So there I was in this big hall. Arriving late and there was no space for me to sit. So I went and sat on the floor in meditation posture at the front, just in front of him. But then at the end of the talk he said lets meditate. And he chanted Om Shanthi and I found myself a hundred meters up in the air looking down at my body sitting in meditation below.

And I looked up and way above me was Swami Satchidananda and he was moving his hands saying, "Come on Up! Come on Up!"

So I thought it might be a good idea to learn from him.

And although I read his books now and recommend them to everyone, Integral Yoga, The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and The Living Gita, Commentary on the Bhagavad Gita, although the information in these books are a great gift to humanity, they are poor fare in comparison to what initially attracted me to him.

And what I got in abundance every time I met him was Energy and Psychic experience. Visions, telepathy, Initiations on the Astral Plane, all came to me every time I met him and when I went to stay at the Ashram, 1000 acres in Virginia in America, for three months, the experiences accelerated every time I meditated.

The knowledge that we cannot die, we are all connected. Satori and the lower levels of Enlightenment.

It took me a few years after these experiences with Swami Satchidananda to get fully cooked.

Hiram means ‘universal,’ and contains the root letter of the elements of air, water, and fire, a play on words that echoes the Hebrew tetragrammaton, the four letter name of God which also incorporates the elements and forms the basis for all kabbalistic doctrine.

SECRET KNOWLEDGE AT CHARTRES
Here I am not referring to Freemasonry, but to the idea that there has been knowledge kept secret, spiritual knowledge, and in particular knowledge of the secrets of art and architecture. After the age of the cathedrals, the Middle Ages, with the Renaissance, and up to the present, the development of humanity in the European tradition turned to the development of the intellect, reason, logical thought, as distinct from instinct and intuition. We have gained enormously from this development, and we can see with a clarity previously impossible, but a combination of ego and rationality has demanded an understanding which commands its subject. An illusory desire for reason to command all, meeting the fact that reason cannot command all, produces the concept of secrets, secret knowledge.

There is an essential knowledge, but it is not secret, just difficult to put into practice, so it is sometimes easier to hold the concept of secret knowledge, not available to me. There have been all sorts of ideas about secret schools preserving knowledge of architecture across the centuries, and this usually settles upon geometrical systems of proportion and composition. Harmonious proportions and number symbolism were used, and these harmonies are inherent in the human mind, and emerge naturally when composition is undertaken by a pure mind.

The search for secret knowledge is often promoted by people who are avoiding their own self discovery. There have been times when knowledge had to be kept secret from oppressive authorities - time when religious institutions were both decadent and powerful, but even then the real knowledge can be expressed in a way that communicates without offence. Maurice Maeterlinck, author of the play The Blue Bird, wrote his book The Great Secret about seventy years
ago. He said that the secret had been openly expressed again and again, and it told who you really are, something quite simple, but entailing in its acceptance a certain sacrifice, of who you are not, THE EGO, a sacrifice many are unwilling to entertain, and, consciously or unconsciously, prefer to see the truth as hidden from them, requiring a profound search. NUMBER SYMBOLISM
The cathedral is also full of number symbolism, not the construction of a rational meaning out of numerical analysis, but from an underlying sense that every number, and particularly the numbers from 1 to 12 had a transforming meaning. One was the number of original unity, and two the number of the first division. Three was the number of the divine, and four the number of the world. Seven, the sum of three and four, represented the steps or completed cycle from earth to heaven, and eight, the next, signifying rebirth and new life, and 12, the product of three and four, God and the world, were all also important. Chartres is full of threes and sevens. Apart from the threes inherent in the layout and height of the building, the transepts and the choir each have three bays, there are three portals, each with three doors. and three
storeys to each tower. At Chartres, there are seven bays to the nave, seven bays between the crossing and the east window, and seven bays to the apse and ambulatory. The pilgrimage to Chartres, from the secular to the sacred, and the pilgrimage through Chartres, through the sacred to rebirth, can be seen as journeys of seven steps, with, like the chapels of the ambulatory, three principal aspects. Seven is also the number of the gifts of the body and the gifts of the soul, shown in both transepts. Chartres expresses a unifying and transforming symbolism in the very fabric of its architectural design. It was the first high cathedral with only three storeys, the model for all later cathedrals. Internally and externally, height is a principal attribute, and not only height, but verticality. The whole design is expressed in terms of vertical lines. This is an enormously heavy stone building, which could have been expressed as stable and earthbound, but with all the stone masses expressed as bundles of vertical shafts, and with pointed arches formed like arrows to heaven, the emphasis is upward: gravity is transformed and the building leads the eye upward, an upward emphasis that is read psychologically as a spiritual ascent.

When you go to the Alhambra in Granada, Spain, you come across many symbols of Sufism. Above is the plan of the Pool of water (Rectangle) in front of one of the beautiful buildings there. And a fountain (Circle) with a water channel between the two. The water from the fountain comes out of the little circle in the center of the bigger circle and flows into the pool. And here below is a picture of that fountain at the Alhambra of Granada when we used to live near there, with one of our Students, Dr Thomas Fluellen, whose Energy Enhancement Testimonial is available on our Website

The symbolism is obvious given what has just been told about the sword in the stone and St Michael in an earlier chapter of the Energy Enhancement Book, available to Download Online Now.

WHEN HYAKUJO FIRST ARRIVED AT CHIANG-SI TO PAY HIS RESPECTS TO MA TZU, MA TZU INQUIRED, "FROM WHERE HAVE YOU COME?"

 "FROM THE GREAT CLOUD MONASTERY AT YUEH CHOU," ANSWERED HYAKUJO.

 "AND WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO GAIN BY COMING HERE?" ASKED MA TZU.

 HYAKUJO REPLIED, "I HAVE COME SEEKING THE BUDDHA-DHARMA."

 TO THIS MA TZU REPLIED, "INSTEAD OF LOOKING TO THE TREASURE HOUSE WHICH IS YOUR VERY OWN, YOU HAVE LEFT HOME AND GONE WANDERING FAR AWAY. WHAT FOR? I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING HERE AT ALL. (THE TREASURE HOUSE IS YOUR HIGHER SELF. NOTHING, EMPTINESS, ANATTA, NIRVANA IS THE HIGHER SELF, HERE HE IS SAYING THAT HE IS CONNECTED TO THE EMPTINESS OF THE HIGHER SELF, THAT HE CAN DROP THE BODY, THAT HE IS ENLIGHTENED - COMMENTARY SATCHIDANAND) WHAT IS THIS BUDDHA-DHARMA THAT YOU SEEK?"

 WHEREUPON HYAKUJO PROSTRATED HIMSELF AND ASKED, "PLEASE TELL ME TO WHAT YOU ALLUDED WHEN YOU SPOKE OF A TREASURE HOUSE OF MY VERY OWN."

 MA TZU REPLIED, "THAT WHICH ASKED THE QUESTION IS YOUR TREASURE HOUSE. IT CONTAINS ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING YOU NEED AND LACKS NOTHING AT ALL. IT IS THERE FOR YOU TO USE FREELY, SO WHY THIS VAIN SEARCH FOR SOMETHING OUTSIDE YOURSELF?"

 NO SOONER WERE THESE WORDS SPOKEN THAN HYAKUJO RECEIVED A GREAT ILLUMINATION AND RECOGNIZED HIS OWN NO-MIND. (NO MIND IS EMPTINESS OF THE HIGHER SELF, THE CHAKRAS ABOVE THE HEAD ALONG THE ANTAHKARANA. HERE HYAJUKO HAD TUNED IN TO THE BUDDHAFIELD OF THE MASTER MA TSU. THUS THE TRANSMISSION BEYOND WORDS) BESIDE HIMSELF WITH JOY, HE BOWED IN DEEP GRATITUDE.

 BEFORE HYAKUJO LEFT MA TZU, HE WENT TO PAY HIS FINAL TRIBUTE TO HIM.

 SEEING HIM COMING, MA TZU RAISED HIS HORSE WHISK STRAIGHT UP. (THE HORSE WHISK IS THE "FINGER POINTING AT THE MOON" IT REPRESENTS THE ANTAHKARANA.)HYAKUJO ASKED, "ARE YOU IN THE USE OF IT, OR APART FROM THE USE?"

 MA TZU HUNG THE HORSE WHISK ON THE CORNER OF HIS CHAIR. AFTER A MINUTE OR SO, HE ASKED HYAKUJO, "HENCE FORWARD, HOW DO YOU OPEN THOSE TWO LEAVES OF YOUR MOUTH TO WORK FOR OTHERS?"

 AT THIS, HYAKUJO TOOK THE HORSE WHISK AND RAISED IT STRAIGHT UP.

 MA TZU SAID, "ARE YOU IN THE USE OF IT, OR APART FROM IT?"

 HYAKUJO HUNG THE HORSE WHISK ON THE CORNER OF THE CHAIR.

 JUST AT THAT MOMENT, A GREAT ROAR, LIKE HUNDREDS OF THUNDERBOLTS FALLING, RAINED ON HYAKUJO'S HEAD. MA TZU HAD GIVEN A SHOUT WHICH, IT IS SAID, DEAFENED HYAKUJO FOR THREE DAYS.

(THE HORSE WHISK IS THE "FINGER POINTING AT THE MOON" IT IS THE ANTAHKARANA. WE DO NOT USE IT. WE ARE APART FROM IT AND YET IT IS PART OF OURSELVES. AND WHEN WE DO NOT USE IT WE ARE THEN THE WITNESS OF ITS USE BY OUR HIGHER SELVES. THEN THE FLOWERS SHOWER. Dear Satchi

Yes, everything, all the DVD course and Online Course Downloads are here, all together they arrived, mighty excited i might add and all is downloaded and well.

Im getting stuck straight in, its amazing, because the very first time i got the sitting position correct. I could feel the energy flowing up my spine and over my head incredible heat and a real tingling in my face and a feeling of elation i cant describe and i did this while using sound for each chakra, when i struck the heart chakra tone my chest just expanded and it felt like it was being lifted up and the whole room seemed full of energy and and and what a feeling, phew. It was heaven.

I was sitting still  for about an hour and it felt like only a few minutes i think i just arrived.

I think i now have all the little pieces of my jigsaw, its taken a long time searching and im also seeing the numerous times when i was shown the direction but i was unable to see, There seems to be so much that i have missed and i wonder how come i was this blind for so long.

I wanted to say "Thank You" For your patience, For your time and most of all for being here on the planet at this time.
