The Corruption of Selfish Desires. If we grow without proper spiritual guidance by trained professionals, then we will probably suffer from the corruption of selfish desires. Nothing is irreversible - if we employ professional spiritual guidance. A mind corrupted by too much selfish desire and ruled by wayward senses, can by helped back to a healthy balance over a period of time. It is not the indweller of the bodies that is corrupted, for the soul is a spiritual spark of the Divine One and is therefore beyond the effects of this world. No, it is the mind of the person that suffers, if not properly maintained and attended to. If the mind is not trained to look inwards at its source - the Self, One, God, Consciousness - then it is bound to stray too far into the world of the senses. All things in moderation! No attribute of life is wrong if it is properly expressed. For instance, sexual love properly expressed is a joy, wrongly expressed it is ugly and abusive. If life is lived with God in heart, then it will grow to be a joy. If the mind has no rest - achieved through meditation - then it slowly corrupts and the indweller slowly recedes behind the dullness of a sense pleasure seeking, egoistically driven mindstate. Through guided meditation, the happiness, peace and joy of the soul can be found once again. The purity of the soul permeates and refreshes the senses and they too become once again pure.
