The Stages of Development and The Integration of the Chakras
The vertical shaft represents the human spine and we can see the chakras positioned along the spine at their anatomical points. Each chakra represents - amongst other things - The Stages of Human Development, a process of exploration, understanding and integration of each chakra.
In terms of the Stages of Human Development;
The base chakra (red) represents birth, the body, and the conditioning process.
The second chakra (orange) represents personal relationships and personal emotionality, beginning in the family and expanding outwards.
The third chakra (yellow) represents the expression of individuality, the exploration of autonomy, power, the lower intellectual function (intellectual activity concerning the lower self), and the ego.
The fourth chakra (green) represents the ability to feel empathy, love and compassion for others - overcoming the selfish ego, the inner marriage of the chakras, and the outer marriage of adult partnership.
The fifth chakra (blue) represents the ability to communicate and express ourselves.
The sixth chakra (lilac) represents the higher intellectual part of the mind, intellect that is concerned with life on the collective level, and not just our own individual needs and concerns. The sixth chakra is also the command centre which can control the functions and expressions of itself and of the chakras beneath it (chakras 1 - 5).
