Hit-and-run annoying comments in CfDs and DRs

I suspect there is nothing we can do about it but someone, presumably someone sockpuppeting, keeps putting obnoxious comments in CfDs and DRs using throwaway IP addresses. Typical example, by no means the worst, just the one that had me think to come here: https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Commons:Categories_for_discussion/2024/08/Category:African_Women_Theologians&diff=prev&oldid=922675078. At least this one didn't call anyone an idiot.

I know there is no effective way to sanction a throwaway IP or throwaway account. Would it be permissible to delete remarks like this when I come across them, just so they don't have the gratification of these sticking around? - Jmabel ! talk 16:40, 11 September 2024 (UTC)

Yes, they don't contribute anything to the community. Actually it all seems to be under one range per Special:Contribs/86.172.31.142/18. Maybe we can just block the whole range. —Matrix(!) {user - talk? - uselesscontributions} 18:17, 11 September 2024 (UTC)
@Matrix: Do you mean Special:Contribs/186.172.31.142/18? Pi.1415926535 (talk) 19:01, 11 September 2024 (UTC)
Yes, sorry for my haste —Matrix(!) {user - talk? - uselesscontributions} 19:02, 11 September 2024 (UTC)
