Hello all, I have been an active admin on Commons for about two years now. I have tried to do my best to be on here 24/7 & 7 days a week and been out of action only when my health did not permit me. I have been a VRTS agent for a few years too. •  Neutral Don't get me wrong; you're obviously a hardworking and active admin, and ultimately I wouldn't mind you getting the CU tools. However, the lack of support from a current CU, as well as the fact that the CU team doesn't seem to think that more CUs are needed right now prevents me from giving you my full support. I find it more important that the CUs are comfortable and trust the new addition to the team. I also find the lacking amount of blocks on sockpuppets concerning, but that's not a deal breaker for me. Krd is right that CU does not have a backlog, as the RfCUs do seem to be processed fast enough. CU also doesn't have anything which requires work to be done as soon as possible. If you applied for oversighter instead, as Minorax suggested below, I would definitely support you, as your UTC+05:30 timezone as well as your VRT experience would be a good addition there. --pandakekok9 08:15, 24 January 2022 (UTC)

Hi @Krd: thank you for your question. My VRTS access was removed for inactivity on March 8th 2021 and was reinstated in August 2021. From August till now I have handled a few tickets, in fact I plan to give-up my VRTS access if this goes through as I will not be able to devote enough time there. --- FitIndia ^{Talk ✉} 07:13, 16 January 2022 (UTC)

@GPSLeo: If you see my past 2 years history as an admin I have tried to give my best to the community and activity wise I have always been in the top 5 most active admins. @RZuo: Thank you for your question. Having multiple accounts (preferable declared) which are not being used for vote rigging or vandalism are fine and I would not run a check on them randomly unless I have got a request on Commons:Requests for checkuser that these accounts are being used for vote rigging, vandalism, spamming or just trying to push a narrative then I might consider this if there is enough proof provided for the same. @1989 Thank you for your question. For the first part to your question, I have always wanted to help out the community as best as possible even with my admin work I have tried my best to silently go about my work and this is what I would like to do as a CU too. As for what I can bring to the CU team is another active pair of fresh eyes that would probably lighten the work load at Commons:Requests for checkuser. - FitIndia ^{Talk ✉} 14:18, 22 January 2022 (UTC)

Do you see any actual problem with the work load? Is has been pointed out several times in the vote section that Commons needs more CUs, but I doubt there can be shown any example from the recent few years where CU request were not processed in a reasonable time. @Krd I have always been of the opinion that we need more admins as more competent/trusted hands/eyes can only help the community. As for CUs I feel the same. If you have a look at Commons:Checkusers/Statistics 1 CU is handling 10 to 30 times the requests then the others in the past 6 months. At present about 40 admins on Commons are handling 90% of the requests but I still feel we need more active admins as the work load can be shared and they are less chances for mistakes. Also if you look at Commons:Checkusers/Archive in 2013 two CUs were added as the CU that proposed both editors mentions that It is helpful to us to be able to consult with one or two other CUs on difficult cases. About tickets being handled in time in my humble opinion a few more CUs will improve the clearing time. Unless there is a rule or a reason to cap the amount of CUs on a project I dont see the harm in adding a few more CUs. I think if you could trust someone with the admin tool which is way more destructive. I honestly have applied for CU rights to help out as best as possible and would love to have consensus on the request. Admin tasks have a backlog, and will always have. VRT task have a backlog, and will always have. CU does not have a backlog, and did not have in the relevant past. The fact that currently one CU does most of the work does not say the rest of the team is not available, or there is no consultation behind the scenes. If you say you want to bring some new ideas or new aspects of work into the team, I may be fine with that. Please feel free to elaborate. I just want to point out here that the so far stated assumptions and conclusions are, IMHO, all wrong. No offense. --Krd 22:37, 22 January 2022 (UTC)
