Unclear copyright status, potentially out of Commons' SCOPE. FDMS 4 17:25, 24 June 2014 (UTC)
@AndreCarrotflower: Did you shoot all of your self-portraits yourself? FDMS 4 17:28, 24 June 2014 (UTC)
- @FDMS4 -
- As to the copyright status, I asked a close friend of mine to take this photograph for the explicit purpose of placing it on Wikimedia Commons, and received her verbal permission to do so. Commons:Copyright rules#Questionable, may or may not be OK states that "pictures of [the uploader him- or herself] taken by a third party" are "normally ok if it's a candid or casual shot made on [the uploader's] request."
- As to issues of scope, Commons:Project scope#File in use on Commons only states that "by custom the uploading of small numbers of images (e.g. of yourself) for use on a personal user page on a Wikimedia Foundation project is allowed." I have three self-portraits on Commons, which is a "small number" by any reasonable estimation, and I like to rotate between them on my Wikivoyage userpage from time to time. (Incidentally, by way of heading off future deletion requests, the other two photographs were also specifically commissioned by me for the explicit purpose of being placed on Commons.)
Withdrawn: Thanks for the first link. FDMS 4 14:23, 25 June 2014 (UTC)
