Halogen lamp with defect wire filament and tempering colors.

| Description |
English: The picture shows a defective halogen lamp. The filament must have burned through at one point due to local overheating. As a result it melted through the wall of the glass body (top left on the glass wall). The white-yellowish coating on the inner part of the glass is probably the salt of the halogen gas with the vapours of the tungsten wire, which has been precipitated by the pressure and temperature drop originated by the hole in the wall. The tempering colours presumably originate from the oxygen that flowed through this hole while the filament was still sufficiently hot.
Deutsch: Das Bild zeigt eine defekte Halogenlampe. Der Glühfaden muss an einer Stelle durch lokale Überhitzung durchgebrannt sein und hat in Folge dessen die Wand des Glaskörpers durchgeschmolzen (links oben an der Glaswandung). Der weiß-gelbliche Überzug auf der Glasinnenseinte ist wahrscheinlich das Salz des Halogengases mit den Dämpfen des Wolframdrahts, welches durch den Druck- und Temperaturabfall im Bereich des Wandungslochs nidergeschlagen ist. Die Anlauffarben stammen vermutlich von dem eingeströmten Sauerstoff, als der Glühfaden noch ausreichend heiß war. |
