| Description | Ce petit temple fait face au grand temple de Lakshmana Les temples de Khajuraho sont inscrits sur la liste du patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO. A l'époque médiévale, le site appelé Jejakbhukti, était la capitale du royaume des rajas Chandelas qui ont pris le pouvoir au début du Xème siècle. Ils y ont fait construire 85 temples dont seulement 25 existent encore aujourd'hui dans différents états de conservation mais tous ont été restaurés. Le site de Khajuraho a perdu de son importance vers 1500. La plupart des temples sont construits en grès, certains sont en granite. Ils font partie des chefs-d’œuvre de l'art hindou. Leurs décors sculptés les ont rendus mondialement célèbres à cause des figures érotiques qui y figurent mais il faut souligner que ces thèmes ne représentent qu'une petite partie de l'ensemble des décors de ces temples. |
