Update request
[edit]Hello.
Can you remove Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (Artsakh) in File:Abkhazia and South Ossetia recognition.svg, File:Recognition of Transnistria new.svg and File:Foreign relations of Transnistria.svg?
Can you remove the flag of Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (Artsakh) in File:Supranational PostSoviet Bodies-ru.svg, File:Supranational PostSoviet Bodies RU.png, File:Наднацыянальныя постсавецкія ўтварэньні.svg, File:Supranational PostSoviet Bodies-fr.svg and File:Supranational PostSoviet Bodies-ky.svg?
The Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (Artsakh) ceased to exist in 2023, after Azerbaijan took all of it, and it officially dissolved itself.
Yours sincerely, Oirattas (talk) 14:57, 23 May 2024 (UTC)
- No, I cannot remove those files as I don't have the rights to do so. If you want to remove them you need to nominate them for deletion. If you are concerned about the status of N-K then you can ask to have the files updated. SVG files can be updated. I can do that for some. Please note: although the territory of NK has been conquered by Azerbaijan, the republic did not dissolve itself. Please update yourself about the actual status. They have withdrawn their initial statement on that and the parliament of the republic still functions (from Yerevan), albeit without a territory they control (see here (RFE/RL), here (Moscow Times) and here (on parliament Artsakh)). That is the accurate factual situation. Nevertheless, some maps can and should be updated. Labrang (talk) 15:37, 23 May 2024 (UTC)
- I understand. The request is not at all of removing files, only to update them. Thank you for the reply. Oirattas (talk) 17:30, 23 May 2024 (UTC)
- Ah - sorry I misread it from my phone. Labrang (talk) 17:41, 23 May 2024 (UTC)
- I see all of the above files were already updated just before my previous response. I guess I can consider this request as redundant by now. Again, sorry for my misunderstanding at first (I was not at home during my first response, so I couldn't update the files at that time). Labrang (talk) 19:21, 23 May 2024 (UTC)
- That's allright. If you see a current-day map with the defunct Nagorno-Karabakh Republic on it, and which has no fixed year and that can be updated, please do so, unless the file specifically states otherwise in the summary and/or in the file name. Oirattas (talk) 16:07, 24 May 2024 (UTC)

- Ah, great tip. This way I can have a lot of my photos removed from wikimedia @Krd. The Flickr license on this photo (and below) is exactly how the license is of many of my photos I deem unfit for Commons but can let have removed due to the cc2 license. But you challenge this on this photo which is not mine, but which has clearly the correct license. Thanks for the tip. Have a nice day! Happy photographing!
