Āmrapālī (P. Ambapālī [alt. AmbapālikĀ]; T. a mra skyong ma ཨ་མྲ་སྐྱོང་མ་; C. anpoluonü) was a courtesan from the city of Vaishali who became a patron of the Buddha. She donated a mango grove, called Āmrapālīvana, to the Buddha. Āmrapālīvana was the site of several teachings on the foundation of mindfulness (satipaṭṭhāna). Āmrapālī evenually became a nun and attained the realization of arhathood.
