viśvavajra (T. rdo rje rgya gram རྡོ་རྗེ་རྒྱ་གྲམ་). Translated as "double-vajra", "crossed vajras", "vajra-cross", etc.[1] It is formed from four vajra-heads that emanate from a central hub towards the four cardinal directions, and symbolizes the principle of absolute stability.[2]
In Buddhist cosmology, a vast double-vajra is said to support the base of the world-system (lokadhātu).[2]
In the context of the five buddha families, the double-vajra is the symbol of Amoghasiddhi, and represents his all-accomplishing wisdom.
