prakṛti (T. gtso bo). Principal factor, main factor, fundamental principle; central figure; primary object; head; chief.[1]
In the non-Buddhist Sāṃkhya school, prakṛti refers to the fundamental nature that includes all the cognitive, moral, psychological, emotional, sensorial and physical aspects of reality.[2] (See Samkhya model of purusha and prakriti.)
The Sāṃkhya view of prakṛti is regarded by Tibetan Buddhists as an eternalist/extremist exaggeration.[1]
