svarga (P. sagga; T. mtho ris; C. tianshang 天上) is translated as "deva realms," “heavens,” etc. This term refers to the realms of the devas within Buddhist cosmology. The term encompasses:[1]
- the six deva realms of the kāmadhātu
- the realms of the rūpadhātu (realm of subtle form)
- the realms of the arūpadhātu (formless realm).
