Yutog Yontan Gonpo the Elder (T. g.yu thog rnying ma yon tan mgon po) (708-833)[1] was Tibetan lama and practitioner of traditional Tibetan medicine.
He was said to be the royal physician of King Trisong Detsen (742–797), who, according to legend, synthesized all the medical knowledge available in Tibet in his day.[1]
He should be distinguished from Yuthok Yontan Gonpo the Younger who lived in the 12th century.
