The crescent represents the ignorant thought forms that confuse us and attach us to the three basic states of awareness. The crescent represents forgetting our True Spiritual Identity - Atman, Satchidananda, Pure unalloyed peaceful consciousness.
The dot represents our true spiritual identity - pure consciousness, the witness of all diverse, various, and changing experiences.
