KALI - The Power and Energy of The Lower Chakras (1 to 3)

Goddess Kali is another form of Goddess Durga or Parvati. Shree KALIMATHA (Calcutta West Bengal) temple known as Kalighat Temple situated in Calcutta is one of the 52 Sakti Peetas of India. It is situated in Alipore about 5 miles from Howrah. There is always a big crowd of devotees from all over the country to worship the Kali Mata.

The poojas and other festivals of light, crackers and colorful processions connected with Navaratri celebrations are hallmarks and highlights of the festivals conducted in honor of the Goddess Kali.

But what is power without the temperance of love and compassion? What is the lower without the higher? What is Kali without Shiva? What is Krishna without Radha?

The Seven Universal Chakras

In the story of Kali, she unwittingly abuses her power (representing the lower chakras 1 to 3) and is finally enlightened by Lord Siva (representing the higher chakras 4 to 7). The story is symbolic of the union of the higher (spiritual) chakras with the lower (material) chakras. The Spiritual Union of Heaven (higher chakras) and Earth (lower chakras).

Only the Integrated person (aware of all seven chakras) becomes enlightened.
