Ākāśānantyāyatana

ākāśānantyāyatana (P. ākāsānañcāyatana, T. nam mkha’ mtha’ yas skye mched ནམ་མཁའ་མཐའ་ཡས་སྐྱི་མཆེད་; C. kong wubian chu) is translated as "sphere of infinite space," etc. It is identified as:

• the first level of the formless realm (arūpadhātu) and
• the first of the four meditative absorptions of the formless realm (ārūpyāvacaradhyāna)
