Āyus

Āyus (T. tshe ཚེ་) - life, this life, lifespan, etc.

The practical Sanskrit-English dictionary states:[1]

1) Life, duration of life; दीर्घमायुः (dīrghamāyuḥ)...
2) Vital power.
3) Food.
4) Name of a ceremony called आयुष्टोम (āyuṣṭoma) performed to secure long life, together with the गो (go) and ज्योतिस् (jyotis) part of the अभिप्लव (abhiplava) ceremony.

Rangjung Yeshe dictionary states:[2]

1) time, moment, when, at the point of.
2) life-time, life-span.
3) long life, power over life.
4) since, because. similar to dus and skabs life; de'i tshe - then; + verb - = when. kyi-tshe - at the time/ on the occasion of. in the context of; life/ longevity; lifetime, life, long life, longevity [RY]

Steven Goodman states:[3]

1) "this life" or "lifespan"
2) in the context of the ten referents for "dharma", refers to "only having regard for this life"
