Bala

Bala (T. stobs སྟོབས་; C. li) is translated as "power," "spiritual power," "strength," etc. The term bala is used in the following contexts:

• five powers (pañca bala) - one of the seven sets of the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment
• ten powers of a buddha
• ten powers of a bodhisattva
• perfection of power (bala-pāramitā), one of the ten paramitas of the Sanskrit tradition
• six powers that aid in shamatha of the Sanskrit tradition
