Charles Willemen

Charles Willemen (October 17, 1941 to June 3, 2024)[1][2] was a scholar and translator who wrote extensively on the Early Buddhist schools and the Abhidharma. He was a professor at the International Buddhist College in Thailand.
He studied Latin, Greek, Chinese, Japanese and Sanskrit. He obtained his Ph.D. in the field of East-Asian Studies (University of Gent, Belgium). He was assistant, guest professor and professor at different universities in Belgium, China, Canada, Japan and Thailand.[3]
