dngos med (T. dngos med དངོས་མེད་) is translated as "non-thing "non-entity," "unmanifest," etc.[1]

In Buddhist logic, dngos med is defined as:[1]

(1) An validly knowable, existent object that does not perform a function -- in other words, it does not produce a result -- namely, a static phenomenon.
(2) A nonexistent object, such as an impossible way of existing.

In the pramana tradition, this term is contrasted with dngos po ("funtional thing"), that which is able to perform a function.

Equivalent Sanskrit terms can be abhāva or avastu.[1]
