EOB:About the origin of this site

This site was founded by two longtime students of Buddhism who met virtually while editing Buddhist-related articles on Wikipedia.

We both felt that we could do a better job presenting the basics concepts of Buddhism by setting up a separate site dedicated to this task, rather than working on individual articles on Wikipedia.

So we launched this site, which enables us to develop these articles with a consistent editorial voice. Our guiding principle is a non-sectarian approach based on the Rimé movement. This non-sectarian approach means that we try to present the views of different Buddhist traditions and of modern academic scholars without bias.

This site is developed using the Mediawiki software platform. (This is the same software used for the Wikipedia site.)

Most of the images on this site are imported directly from Wikicommons , which is a free media repository developed as a Wikimedia project. You can view all the relevant copyright information and other details about these images by clicking on the image within the article.
