Karma Phuntsho
Karma Phuntsho is a Bhutanese scholar who specialises in Buddhist studies, as well as the history and culture of Bhutan. He has published a number of works including the The History of Bhutan and Mipham’s Dialectics and the Debates on Emptiness.
He finished his monastic training in Bhutan and India before he pursued a M.St in Classical Indian Religions and a D.Phil in Oriental Studies at Balliol College, Oxford. He was a researcher at CNRS, Paris, a Research Associate in the Department of Social Anthropology at Cambridge University, and the Spalding Fellow for Comparative Religion at Clare Hall, Cambridge University. He was also a Research Consultant at University of Virginia.
His book the The History of Bhutan has been called "the first book to offer a comprehensive history of Bhutan in English."
