pañcagati (T. 'gro ba lnga འགྲོ་བ་ལྔ་; C. wudao/wuqu 五道/五趣) is translated as "five classes of beings," "five destinies," "five domains," etc. It refers to five rebirth destinies within the three realms of existence.
The five classes of beings are:
Some texts present a system of six classes of beings ([[]]), in this system, the class of the gods is split into two classes: gods deva and jealous gods (asura).
Sentient beings (sattva) are born into a particular "class" or "destiny" based on the karma accumulated in previous lives.
The destinies/situations of these five classes of beings are sometimes referred to as "five domains," "five realms," etc.
