parīttābha (T. 'od chung; C. shaoguang tian 少光天) is translated as "lesser radiance," "lesser light," etc.[1][2] Literally, “Those Whose Radiated Light Is Circumscribed.”[2]

Parīttābha is one of the deva realms of the rupadhatu, and also the name of the devas living there. Within the rupadhatu, this is third (and lowest) of the three deva realms of the second dhyana.[2] Rebirth in this realm is the karmic result of accomplishing the second meditative absorption.[2]

The devas in this realm have lesser brilliance and radiance than those in the those in the two realms above them.[2]
