Prakaraṇapāda. (T. rab tu byed pa’i rkang pa; C. Pinlei zu lun 品類足論). In Sanskrit, “Exposition”; a book from the Sarvastivada Abhidharma, "which is traditionally listed as the first of the six ancillary texts, or “feet” (pāda), of the Jñānaprasthāna, the central treatise... of the Sarvāstivādin Abhidharma-piṭaka."[1]
- The Prakaraṇapāda is attributed by tradition to Vasumitra and dates from c. 160 to 320 CE, probably following the compilation of the Abhidharma-mahāvibhāṣā. The treatise is extant only in a complete Chinese translation made by Guṇabhadra and Bodhiyaśas between 435 and 443.[1]
