Prayoga

Prayoga (T. sbyor ba; C. jiaxing 加行) has multiple meanings in Buddhism. Common meanings include:

  1. trainings; practices[1]
  2. commitment of an action; one of the four factors determining the completion of an action[1]
  3. preliminaries to an actual practice.[1]
  4. preparation[1][2]
  5. joining together[2]
  6. exertion[2]

In Buddhist logic, prayoga refers to formal statement that contains a subject, object and predicate.[2] In this context the term is typically translated as "syllogism."[2]
