Rishi (Skt. ṛṣi; P. isi; T. drang srong དྲང་སྲོང་) - "a geneneic Indian term for religious recluses."[1]
The term rishi is translated as: sage, seer, holy hermit, sage, seer; Indian ascetic, Indian sage; etc.[2]
