Tarkajvālā (T. rtog ge 'bar ba རྟོག་གེ་འབར་བ་), or Blaze of Reason, is Bhavaviveka's auto-commentary to his Heart of the Middle Way (Madhyamakahṛdaya).
The Madhyamakahṛdaya is preserved in both Sanskrit and Tibetan, the Tarkajvālā only in Tibetan.[1]
According to the Princeton Dictionary, the Tarkajvālā, along with the Tattvasamgraha by Shantarakshita, are important examples of Buddhist siddhanta texts in India.[2] Both of these texts "set forth the positions of non-Buddhist and Buddhist philosophies in order to demonstrate the superiority of their respective Madhyamaka positions."[2]
