Viśuddhi

Viśuddhi [alt. viśuddha] (P visuddhi; T. རྣམ་པར་དག་པ་, rnam par dag pa; C. qingjing) means purity.

Two types of purity are identified:[1]

  • innate purity
  • purity free from adventitious (temporary) stains.

The Pali tradition also identifies seven types of purity.[1]

The Tibetan terrm རྣམ་པར་དག་པ་ is also translated as:[2]

  • complete purity
  • completely pure
  • authentic
  • unmistaken
