When we interact with people who are always competitive then we are often left feeling confused, drained, small, and uncomfortable. Some people have a constantly competitive personality. They are totally selfish, egotistical, and have little consideration of others. They only use you as an opponent for their competitive and infantile games. They have only one itinerary in their relationships and that is one-upmanship.

It is rare to find a competitive person who does not also harbour jealousy and resentment towards others. This personality type is closely linked to "the star" narcissistic personality type.

It's all the ego - this sefish, grasping mind of desirous attachment. It's a bugger!

In conversation, this type of person will finish off your sentences for you thus disrespecting your opinions and right to communicate on equal terms. This egotistical, infantile and competitive personality type is only interested in a fight - mental, emotional, or physical.

It's just an expression of the alpha-mud.

Often linked to macho bullying types. They are rarely interested in friendly cooperation because there is no chance for egotistical one-upmanship in cooperative ventures and relationships. They are not generally responsible, loving, and mature people. They are stuck at the level of the ego operating throughout the chakra system and the heart chakra is often damaged and dysfunctional.

If you notice this re-occuring personality trait in somebody then it is best to be diplomatic or avoid them entirely, unless you wish to be caught up in endless EGO WAR: infantile, and draining energetic battles. They have the mindstate of "the jealousy monkey." If you meet one of these types then "give them the victory quickly" unless the matter is of some relevant importance.

Healthy competition is based upon playfulness. We can play with competition in mutually rewarding and satisfying experiences.

Problems occur when we begin taking it all too seriously. We forget our spiritual nature and the the ego gets overgrown! Then we groan! Which is the mark of unhealthy egoism.
