Asaṃkhya

Asaṃkhya (P. asaṅkya; T. grangs med pa; C. asengqi) means "incalculable." It refers to an extremely large number. In Buddhist cosmology, the term is used to refer to a period of time known as an "incalculable kalpa" (asaṃkhyeya-kalpa).[1]
For example, Shakyamuni Buddha is said to have practiced for three incalculable eons (asamkhyeya-kalpa) before becoming a Buddha.[2]
