The four classes of tantra (Skt. nava-yana; Tib. ཐེག་པ་དགུ, tekpa gu) refer to four stages of the tantric path within the Sarma schools of Tibetan Buddhism.
And one inner class of tantra, which is called
The latter is divided into three:
- Mother Tantras, such as the Chakrasamvara Tantra;
- Father Tantras, such as the Guhyasamaja Tantra, the King of Tantras; and
- Non-dual Tantras, such as Kalachakra.[1]
These classes of tantra correspond roughly to the six classes of tantra of the Nyingma school.
