Lower Abhidharma

Lower Abhidharma is a designation, within Tibetan Buddhism, for Abhidharma texts and positions that are in accord the Hinayana view.

The Tibetan tradition distinguishes between the Higher Abhidharma, which is in accorrd with the Mahayana, and the Lower Abhidharma that is in accord with the Hinayana view.

In the Tibetan tradition, the main text of the "Lower Abhidharma" is the Abhidharma-kosa.
