Samantabhadra

Samantabhadra (T. kun tu bzang po ཀུན་ཏུ་བཟང་པོ་; C. Puxian; J. Fugen; K. Pohyŏn 普賢) has multiple connotations. According to Tsepak Rigdzin, this term can refer to:[1]

  1. Those existents that are pure or virtuous throughout all of its parts.
  2. The sphere of reality (dharmadhātu) or the nature truth body (dharmakāya).
  3. Buddha Samantabhadra (aka. tathāgata samantabhadra).
  4. Bodhisattva Samantabhadra, one of the eight close sons of Buddha Shakyamuni.
  5. According to the Bon tradition, the complete enjoyment body (sambhogakāya).
