The Garden of the Hesperides is Hera's orchard in the west, where either a single tree or a grove of Illumination - immortality-giving golden apples grew. The apples were planted from the fruited branches that Gaia the Earth Goddess gave to her as a wedding gift when Hera accepted Zeus. The 3 lady Hesperides were given the task of tending to the grove, but occasionally plucked from it themselves. Not trusting them, Hera also placed in the garden a never-sleeping, hundred-headed, dragon, named Ladon, see the Lenean Hydra - this is the same beast as Ladon - as an additional safeguard.

 

 

In Greek mythology, the Lernaean Hydra (Greek: Λερναία Ὕδρα) was an ancient nameless serpent-like chthonic water beast that possessed numerous heads— the poets mention more heads than the vase-painters could paint— and poisonous breath (Hyginus, 30). The Hydra of Lerna had heads which when cut sprouted three more, was killed by Hercules as the Second of his Twelve Labours and refers to the rubbish unnecessary thoughtforms of the mind created by trauma formed Energy Blockages. Hercules destroyed the heads of the Hydra with Sacred Kundalini Fire - The Energy Enhancement Meditation and the Seven Step Process for the removal of Energy Blockages.

The Eleventh Labour of Hercules

Walter Burkert has called the labours and other myths of Hercules "a conglomerate of popular tales which was exploited only secondarily by the high art of poetry", and it was not until the fifth century that poets of the Classic age could draw the myth into "a tragic, heroic, and human atmosphere and away from its natural thrust outwards to a carefree realm beyond the human" (Burkert 1985:208).

As philosophical, moral, and eventually allegorical overlays came to be applied to Hercules  death-cheating superhuman exploits, behind their outer, literal meaning, the Hercules figure came to represent an inner mystical tradition, and thus the labours could be interpreted in terms of the spiritual path. The last three labours (10-12) of Heracles are generally considered metaphors about death or illumination. Hercules was unique among Greek heroes in that no tomb of Hercules was ever localized, and the Olympian sacrifices and chthonic libations were offered simultaneously to him everywhere.

In order to make Ten out of the Twelve Labours of Heracles (also known as the Twelve Labours of Hercules), and thus destroy the essence of the Ilumination myth path, it was suggested that Eurystheus discounted those where Heracles was aided or paid, and so two additional labours were given.

The first of these was to steal the apples from the garden of the Hersperides. Heracles first caught Nereus, the shape-shifting sea god, to learn where the Garden of the Hesperides was located. In some variations, Heracles, either at the start or at the end of his task, meets Antaeus, who was invincible as long as he touched his mother, Gaia, the earth goddess.

Antaeus was killed (the process of Illumination requires the ability to get out of the body into the higher chakras, the same path we take when we die, but without the advantage of being able to come back along the Silver Chord) Antaeus was killed by suspending him in a tree - SEE THE MYTH OF ODIN IN AXIS MUNDI where Odin spent 9 nights supended in the Axix Mundi Tree above the Crown Chakra in order to become Illuminated and gain psychic vision - make all his sight one in the third eye.

Finally making his way to the Garden of the Hesperides, Heracles tricked Atlas into retrieving some of the golden apples for him, by offering to hold up the heavens for a little while (Atlas was able to take them as, in this version, he was the father or otherwise related to the Hesperides). Upon his return, Atlas decided that he did not want to take the heavens back, and instead offered to deliver the apples himself, but Heracles tricked him again by agreeing to take his place on condition that Atlas relieve him temporarily so that Heracles could make his cloak more comfortable. Atlas agreed, but Heracles reneged and walked away. According to an alternative version, Heracles slew Ladon - a hundred headed Kundalini Serpent which refers to instead.

According to some Heracles was the only person to steal the apples, other than Perseus, although Athena later returned the apples to their rightful place in the garden. They are considered by some to be the same "apples of joy"  - The Golden Apples of the Sun, that tempted Atalanta, as opposed to the "apple of discord" - Blockages which exist above the Crown Chakra, cutting us off from our Soul Chakra - used by Eris to start a beauty contest (The Ego Blockages) on Olympus.

On Attic pottery, especially from the late fifth century, Heracles is depicted sitting in bliss in the Gardens of the Hesperides, attended by the maidens. This is the Story of Heaven - in the Chakras above the head along the Antahkarana of the World Tree of Axis Mundi. Later, William Shakespeare wrote "For valour, is not Love a Hercules. Still climbing trees in the Hesperides?" (Love's Labours Lost, IV.III).

ROSHI HOGEN

As my Master Roshi Hogen says THE ANTAKARANA IS "The spring at the top of the Mountain."

 

Illness is caused by a lack of energy. We can only heal ourselves when we learn to fill ourselves with energy by these methods.

<>I was very happy with Zen Master Hogen. Every Day as soon as I got out of bed, for many years, I would meditate.

<> But strangely I found more and more that I was getting thrown out of bed every morning by him so I could meditate.

I decided to enter into one of them and saw that past life gaining much experience. I then decided to go higher. There too I gained much experience.

When I went to Hogen in Dokusan with this experience, after I told him about the past lives he said, "We can explore this area of the Astral Plane for 10,000 years and get nowhere!" Then I told him about going higher and he smiled! And in another space I saw his aura expanding, gold, and enfolding me in the energy of his love...

After this I was allowed to find another Master...

 

 

SATCHIDANAND MEETS SWAMI SATCHIDANANDA FOR THE FIRST TIME

So when a friend asked me if I wanted to go to London to meet Swami Satchidananda I was hesitant. But they persuaded me to go. So there I was in this big hall. Arriving late and there was no space for me to sit. So I went and sat on the floor in meditation posture at the front, just in front of him. But then at the end of the talk he said lets meditate. And he chanted Om Shanthi and I found myself a hundred meters up in the air looking down at my body sitting in meditation below.

And I looked up and way above me was Swami Satchidananda and he was moving his hands saying, "Come on Up! Come on Up!"

So I thought it might be a good idea to learn from him.

And although I read his books now and recommend them to everyone, Integral Yoga, The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and The Living Gita, Commentary on the Bhagavad Gita, although the information in these books are a great gift to humanity, they are poor fare in comparison to what initially attracted me to him.

And what I got in abundance every time I met him was Energy and Psychic experience. Visions, telepathy, Initiations on the Astral Plane all came to me every time I met him and when I went to stay at the Ashram, 1000 acres in Virginia in America, for three months, the experiences accelerated every time I meditated. The knowledge that we cannot die, we are all connected. Satori and the lower levels of Enlightenment.

It took me a few years after these experiences with Swami Satchidananda to get fully cooked but my Sat Guru, Satchidananda, student of Swami Sivananda of Rishikesh was with me at every step.

The egg is a common alchemical symbol. The retort, the alchemists’ bulb-shaped vessel, was called the Philosopher’s egg. It was used for gentle distillation and cohobation and could be hermetically sealed, so that the various materials inside could incubate. The egg was, more importantly, perceived as an image of the universe, the macrocosmos.

THE ANTAHKARANA OF JOHN DEE

John Dee, a British alchemist and mathematician who wrote the Monas hieroglyphica in 1564, wrote about the monad (unity) underlying the universe as expressed in a hieroglyph or symbol. He connected the symbol of the monad to the process of alchemical transmutation and found elements of transformation arranged along orbital lines in the egg, according to the corresponding placement of their ruling planets. He delineated the egg into a central “yolk” made up of the Sun, Mars and Venus (the metals gold, iron and copper) and a “white” made up of Jupiter, Saturn, Luna and Mercury (the metals tin, lead, silver and quicksilver)…Material tranformation took place when the “yolk” enveloped the “white” through a process of “rotation.”

Dogen, one of the founders of zen buddhism in Japan, spent three years at Tien-túng in China, entering whole heartedly into zazen practice.

One day during meditation, Tendo Nyojo shouted at a sleeping monk, "When you study under a Master, you must drop body and mind!"

For Dogen, seated right beside this monk the shouted words, ¨Drop body and mind!" precipitated a profound experience.

He made his way to the Abbots quarters and burned incence in awe and gratitude, and, after a brief exchange, Tendo Nyojo confirmed that his young Japanese disciple had indeed, "Dropped Body and Mind."

 

The only way to perceive that we are mainly using the body as our vehicle is to drop it.

Every brick aspires to become a Cathedral - the Monad and the Logos Chakras above the Head Communities.

Here I am not referring to Freemasonry, but to the idea that there has been knowledge kept secret, spiritual knowledge, and in particular knowledge of the secrets of art and architecture. After the age of the cathedrals, the Middle Ages, with the Renaissance, and up to the present, the development of humanity in the European tradition turned to the development of the intellect, reason, logical thought, as distinct from instinct and intuition. We have gained enormously from this development, and we can see with a clarity previously impossible, but a combination of ego and rationality has demanded an understanding which commands its subject. An illusory desire for reason to command all, meeting the fact that reason cannot command all, produces the concept of secrets, secret knowledge.

There is an essential knowledge, but it is not secret, just difficult to put into practice, so it is sometimes easier to hold the concept of secret knowledge, not available to me. There have been all sorts of ideas about secret schools preserving knowledge of architecture across the centuries, and this usually settles upon geometrical systems of proportion and composition. Harmonious proportions and number symbolism were used, and these harmonies are inherent in the human mind, and emerge naturally when composition is undertaken by a pure mind.

The search for secret knowledge is often promoted by people who are avoiding their own self discovery. There have been times when knowledge had to be kept secret from oppressive authorities - time when religious institutions were both decadent and powerful, but even then the real knowledge can be expressed in a way that communicates without offence. Maurice Maeterlinck, author of the play The Blue Bird, wrote his book The Great Secret about seventy years ago. He said that the secret had been openly expressed again and again, and it told who you really are, something quite simple, but entailing in its acceptance a certain sacrifice, of who you are not, THE EGO, a sacrifice many are unwilling to entertain, and, consciously or unconsciously, prefer to see the truth as hidden from them, requiring a profound search. Your search is hindered only by yourself.

NUMBER SYMBOLISM
The cathedral is also full of number symbolism, not the construction of a rational meaning out of numerical analysis, but from an underlying sense that every number, and particularly the numbers from 1 to 12 had a transforming meaning. One was the number of original unity, and two the number of the first division. Three was the number of the divine, and four the number of the world. Seven, the sum of three and four, represented the steps or completed cycle from earth to heaven, and eight, the next, signifying rebirth and new life, and 12, the product of three and four, God and the world, were all also important. Chartres is full of threes and sevens. Apart from the threes inherent in the layout and height of the building, the transepts and the choir each have three bays, there are three portals, each with three doors. and three storeys to each tower. At Chartres, there are seven bays to the nave, seven bays between the crossing and the east window, and seven bays to the apse and ambulatory. The pilgrimage to Chartres, from the secular to the sacred, and the pilgrimage through Chartres, through the sacred to rebirth, can be seen as journeys of seven steps, with, like the chapels of the ambulatory, three principal aspects. Seven is also the number of the gifts of the body and the gifts of the soul, shown in both transepts. Chartres expresses a unifying and transforming symbolism in the very fabric of its architectural design. It was the first high cathedral with only three storeys, the model for all later cathedrals. Internally and externally, height is a principal attribute, and not only height, but verticality. The whole design is expressed in terms of vertical lines. This is an enormously heavy stone building, which could have been expressed as stable and earthbound, but with all the stone masses expressed as bundles of vertical shafts, and with pointed arches formed like arrows to heaven, the emphasis is upward: gravity is transformed and the building leads the eye upward, an upward emphasis that is read psychologically as a spiritual ascent.

Below is a Shiva Lingham and Yoni from the india and the Ancient, 5000 years old Hindu religion. The base, Yoni looks like the fountain above, yes? The Shiva Lingam (Male Genitals) takes the part of the upwelling water of the fountain. In ritual worship, milk is poured over the Shiva Lingam and it comes out of the Yoni (Female Genitals) which symbolise the earth and the antahkarana spout shooting spiritual energy out of the center of the earth like the water of the fountain comes out of the fountain above into the pool.

This shows the rectification (The R of Vitriol) of the energy milk which comes down from the center of the universe and its rectification, change of direction, as it returns from the center of the earth back into the center of the universe.

THE PARALLEL PROCESSOR MODEL OF A HUMAN BEING.

Super Computers gain speed through the number of processors connected. Each Chakra is a processor. As we connect the chakras higher and higher along the antahkarana by removing the energy blockages between them so we gain more intelligence the higher they go, and the more chakras we connect together. As more processors are connected, so a human being gains more wisdom. The communication bus connecting the chakras together is the Antahkarana - a connecting tower of energy between heaven and earth. There are an infinity of chakras in the body and above the crown - soul, monad, sirius etc - connecting us with god. The number of processors is infinite. Our intelligence is potentially unlimited!!

PETER'S KUNDALINI COURSE REPORT

We started Yoga breathing and got into alignment with the earth energy, at first it was difficult to feel the connection. Satch then came over to me and aligned my body correctly, I then immediately felt the energy flow. 

 

This flow became stronger as time elapsed until again I felt strong emotion, first I cried and then I laughed, the energy flow was much stronger and was continually flowing without any effort. I actually felt as if I didn't want to break the connection, although there was a delicious pesticide free meal on the table!

Day two a.m. was even more dramatic, once in meditation I was continually clearing negative emotions, although what they were I do not know, I was shaking and crying. 

 

We also learnt the Hatha Yoga 'master position'; I only thought gymnasts would be able do this one! Negative energy again started clearing but this time during and after the position. I didn't know I had so much dross on board.

The advantage of Energy Enhancement is that you do not have to experience every single negative experience you ever had, it is swept away as a "job lot" so you feel it going, but it is not unpleasant! This is really good, who wants to experience all the bad things again!!

We are off to Roses this afternoon for a sauna and a meal. I am really looking forward to this evening's meditation and Energy Enhancement!

 

Day 3, a.m., we received a Reiki initiation today, although this was the second time for me it was completely different from the first time back home. 

 

 

I felt lots of energy flowing while Devi's hands were on my shoulder, I also got a vision of a sword, apparently this could mean breaking of some energy connections, which may have been of a negative nature.

 

We then continued meditation with the Fire Ceremony. This consists of sending your negative energy down an energy tube for purifying by the 'Atomic Flame' at the center of the earth. The energy is then returned as 'pure gold' to the body's energy field and this starts an energy circulation, which can then be used to burn through energy blockages. 

 

 

During this burning I released again waves of negative energy and started shaking and laughing. 

Day 3, p.m., connecting to the God energy. Started with meditation pose and circulating energy as in the Fire Ceremony, we then sent our connection out through the earth's atmosphere and out the galaxy and universe by imagining we were in the starship enterprise at warp 10, beam me up Scotty! 

 

 

We then went on to the Spiritual Sun (soul) and went to its centre. From there through a door and onto the Monad (in charge of many souls) and from the centre of the Monad upwards to God. 

 

 

One may encounter blockages of negative energy on the way up and have to 'breathe' our energy through them. 

 

 

I found a very powerful one just before the white light of the God energy, it consisted of a black goo. 

 

 

I was finding it impossible to fight through, my legs were hurting, my back was hurting from the meditation pose and I was on the verge of defeat. I told Satch and he said that it was probably time to come down again, as soon as he said that it made me want to do the opposite! 

 

 

I broke through and contacted the God energy. Well what an energy flow took place then! It felt unlike any of the other flows and my negative energy starting clearing good style. I was shaking, crying and then finally laughing. This lasted for a few minutes and then finally subsided. 

 

 

 

This energy flow started from myself, to the God energy, from the God energy and back to me and then down to the atomic flame, negative energies purified and sent back up through the body and up again. This is known as the 'Macrocosmic Orbit, The Energy Enhancement Supra Galactic Orbit' of energy.

Day 4, a.m., feeling quite whacked out today, no energy, found it difficult to maintain yoga poses and was aching all over. We had 3rd Reiki initiation with Devi, felt a lot of energy flow through shoulders. Had breakfast and went for some z's to recover.

 

Day 4 p.m., did further clearing of negative energies, but this time much more powerful, I had a blockage in the chest and the energy was so intense I felt as if I was having a heart failure! This sensation passes quickly and even after breaking the pose I could feel the energy flow and I broke out into laughter.

 

Day 5, a.m., talk by Satch about grounding the effects of any food that we have eaten in the past, or are about to eat and have just eaten (stage 5 of Energy Enhancement). Unfortunately lots of meals I had eaten were bad! Lots of grounding to do!

Also more importantly how to ground negative energy blockages within the body. One can with the right technique use the God energy and beams of energy from the third eye and the heart to zap these out of the way. This additional technique is very powerful and level of clearing is much more intense again.

How much more powerful can we go?!

GOODNESS KNOWS WHAT HE DID IN GOVERNMENT AND HE WAS ONE OF THE MOST INTELLIGENT!!

Now a c grade student from Yale University in in charge....

But they also have no Heart...

Meditation is the way of going beyond the Mind to a place of Heart, Intuition, of Coherence, Alignment with the soul or higher self where you can become integrated, One, Governed by higher levels of Energy.

Also, the Energy of Meditation can so unify Your energetic field that you can produce coherence and alignment and peace in all people which surround You.

The people of Transcendental Meditation have proved in a great scientific experiment, reported in major scientific journals that when a lot of people meditated together in a city, then that city experienced lower levels of crime. The crime statistics of the whole city on every level were lowered during the process of the meditation. Just think what a process of daily meditation could produce in your life and in the people around you, your family, your friends. Any meditation you practice will help them also.

The movie, The Last Samurai, was making that point. Human society and politics is governed by the mind. It wants everything and will do anything to get it. But Tom Cruise the Star and executive producer of the Movie, together with the Writer, John Logan who wrote Oscar Winner, "Gladiator" was saying that this mix of selfish desire and intellect needs the leaven of the state of meditation.

The Last Samurai started with Meditation and when at the end of the movie when Tom was handing the Sword Soul of the Meditation of the head Samurai to the Emperor, he was handing on the message of meditation. And that meditation so strengthened the courage of the Emperor that he became capable of throwing out the bad people in his Government.

He is still passing that Sword to You, so that you can cast out all your negative energy blockages! ....

 

Today no Government can  promise you security in the face of Selfish Desire, Weapons of Mass Destruction, and Terrorism. They can not prevent!!!

Only the coherence and alignment of the energy of peace from meditation can start to change the world, your life now and your future lifetimes, creating more luck in your life and preventing attacks before they arise.

No Government can prevent... has been able to improve the problematic areas of Education and Health. Dummed down and plain unhealthy. And others bring the awareness of the environment being destroyed by industrial pollution and not simple carbon dioxide which feeds the trees, - yes those big clouds of pollution and xeno-oestrogens only emanate from the fuctories near you at 4am when all the cars are off the road.

This same pollution which previously created the  scourge of Tuberculosis is now creating the killers of Cancer, Heart Disease, Aids and low birth rates in every country in the world.

Also the fact that throughout the world many children are lacking in parents, food, water, houses and education and for this reason their pain will provide the next terror and war cannon fodder in the coming years of this century.

Our happiness is bound up in the happiness of others. Who are the happiest people, those who make everyone around them happy.

Governments and the people who run them never have had this point of view. They do not meditate!

Their control comes from making their people afraid, and for this an enemy is needed. Or it does not fit into their budget. Their control comes from creating fear and Chaos.

If we know and create what is to happen then the Chaos Management of your created Problem, the predicted Reaction and then offering your Solution can give you ownership of the World.

All CNN can do is to report this with no insight into the why? That this bank has been robbed by some burglars and this company has failed with the loss of the pension fund or that because Greenspan with the encouragement of Bush approved toxic loans in order to make money for themselves and their families and friends, and Countrywide Mortgage Brokers went up 2100% before it went bankrupt, and after that the whole financial system of the World went bottom up - but the people who were told what would happen, with Money they earned from Countrywide and other scams were able to buy all the assets of the Bankrupt Financial Houses very cheaply. Classic Created Bubble: done many times before!

You just know that the OrangeMan - Angelo Mozilo CEO Countrywide - is going to pull a Ken Lay! After all it worked once, and there's plenty of room next to GW's Paraguay compound for another new arrival. That neighborhood is going to be the wealthiest and most secure on the planet!

Angelo Mozilo may be a scapegoat? The government needs to put a high profile face on the mortgage system's meltdown and they can't use Roland E. Arnall, the former owner of alleged predatory lender Ameriquest Mortgage, since W appointed him to be ambassador to the Netherlands -- after he paid at least $325 million in fines, penalties and associated costs to various state attorneys general. To be noted, Arnall was one of the biggest contributors to the Republican Party whereas Mozilo is reputedly thought to support democrat people and causes. Henry Cisneros, Clinton's disgraced (and pardoned) former HUD Secretary is on Countrywide's Board of Directors as was Kathleen Brown Rice, current California Attorney General and ex-California Governor Jerry Brown's sister.

Remember, Abraham Lincoln.. "You can fool a few of the people all of the time, you can fool most of the people most of the time, and in any democracy, this is enough!"

All the BBC can do then is to report that this country is going to war and yes, you are being conscripted, enslaved into the army.

This has been the case for 10,000 years whilst the governments of Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, Caligula, Nero, Genghis Khan, Napoleon, Hitler, Stalin, and Mao, have killed untold millions of people, 200 millions alone in the last century.

U2 at their concerts say the worlds biggest arms dealers are, in money order,  USA, UK, France, Russia, and China. An Arms budget of 400 Billions of Dollars per year are needed, 15 Trillions of Dollars have been spent on Arms since the second World War, wasted yet necessary because of this State of Insecurity.

Today we don't need the Old States of the past or even the United States or a State of Insecurity, Instead we need the State of Meditation on One Enlightened Harmonious World where everyone is given the opportunity to evolve, treated well... given food, accommodation, education, meditation, is happy, and an arms budget is not needed!!

The Purpose of this world is the Evolution and Happiness of Humanity.

This we need to Afford through your conscious choice, NOW. By choosing to practice Meditation. Through having a process of  Meditation every day you can enter into that Richer Life!!

As meditation becomes the Practice of Choice in all people, Businesses, Politicians and Government itself, this will change and the whole world will become Defect Free!!

And even meditation is not enough, now we need real Meditative Progress, a Speeding up of the Process of Meditation through Advanced Energy Enhancement Techniques. ENLIGHTENMENT AND THE OPENING OF THE HEART

Enlightenment is certainly the key, but almost all the traditions are against it -- and there is a reason why they are against it. The most fundamental reason is that if enlightenment is a reality, God becomes an unreality. If your own illumination is the ultimate, then nothing can be above it. Then man's own consciousness becomes the highest reality.

Religions and traditions believing in God cannot allow enlightenment. It goes against all their fictions. Their fictions can exist only in the darkness, not in the light. To keep their fictions alive, to keep their dreams real, they don't allow human beings to be awake. You don't hear of Christian mystics as enlightened, you don't hear of Jewish mystics as awakened. In fact, enlightenment is the alternative of God.

All that belongs to the ritualistic religions is endangered by enlightenment, because enlightenment has no ritual, it has no prayer, it has no scriptures. It so totally believes in you, its respect for humanity is so absolute and irrevocable... It is natural that all the priests are going to be against it, because the whole profession of the priests depends on fictions, and enlightenment destroys fictions.

All theologies are fabrications of the mind, and enlightenment is a transcendence going beyond the mind. All that belongs to the mind is a nightmare. Where do your gods exist? Where is your heaven, your hell? Where are your angels and your ghosts? They all constitute the entity called the mind.

Enlightenment is the greatest revolution you can conceive of because it destroys all fictions, all rituals, all gods, all traditions, all scriptures. It leaves you with only the essential consciousness of your own being. Its trust in consciousness is so total that there is no need of anything else.

It has not been said as clearly as I am putting it... I want to make it absolutely clear that the very idea of enlightenment is against all religions. Or, in other words, the only authentic religion is that of enlightenment. All other religions are part of the marketplace; they are businesses exploiting human helplessness, exploiting human weakness, exploiting human limitations.

Religions have done so much harm to man that it is unparalleled. Nothing else has been so dangerous. In every possible way they have been preventing man from even hearing the word `enlightenment'. You should not become aware that raising your hands to the sky is stupid -- there is no one to answer your prayers, no prayer has ever been answered…  

I was talking last night about how this modern world is educating the physical with games and Hatha Yoga and the like, how it’s educating the emotional and more, with school and books and university, how it is educating the mental, now we all have IQs.

 

Yet also we need to educate the heart and the qualities of the heart are Empathy – energy blockages and associated toxins in the heart stop empathy - and Conscience - energy blockages and associated toxins in the head chakras and in the soul chakra – the highest heart, stop conscience.

 

We need Empathy, so we can feel the pain of others. We need Conscience so that we can do the right thing even though the mind, the intellect says, “Go for the money!” and “Greed is Good”

 

The heart says, “Do no harm, do not create any pain with your act and with your harmless act make sure that one person at least benefits”

 

In a way, the message of the heart, of empathy, of mercy, of conscience is the message which Jesus brought 2000 years ago. And gradually the heart has been growing within humanity especially modern humanity.

 

Evidence of this is that one General from the first World War mentioned that the army was having a problem. Apparently the conscripted soldiers were having difficulty is killing the enemy. 80% were not firing at the enemy, instead they were firing over their heads and that this was not that the soldiers could not aim at the enemy soldiers. Instead they were consciously aiming to miss. And this General was complaining that this was a great problem for the army which future training and brainwashing had to overcome.

 

In this way you can see the battleground of the Heart going on within humanity at this moment in time.

 

For thousands of years saints and the enlightened from every religion have been giving advice to all the people as to how to evolve and one of the greatest evolutions of humanity is how to open the heart.

 

They have been saying that pure positive spiritual energy can only flow and be channeled though a purified body and mind and heart. The spiritual light of the EnLightened can only emanate from a purified physical, emotional, mental and spiritual body, vehicle. All levels must be purified of its negative energy.

 

Therefore the physical food should have no toxins and the air we breathe should be pure as Tolkien indicated when he showed that Orcs could not stand the sunlight and ate bad food, “He can’t take his draught!” said the Orcs of Pippin the Hobbit. Indeed Sauron through Saruman was that person who was chopping down all the forests to feed the fires of industry and who created the dark clouds of pollution which allowed his Orc army to travel during the day.

 

Of course the General, to overcome his problem, to create an army in which 100% of the soldiers will kill will ensure that the heart is occluded by impure air and consciously toxic food. The countries which have the worst air and food are those whose generals want an efficient army as a preparation for war.

 

The countries who have pure organic food, reduce the number of toxic ingredients in the food by legislating E numbers, by scientific testing of food for pesticides, reducing factory emissions into the air (note I do not mention Carbon Dioxide here) and do not use incinerators are the most advanced countries of this world – yet they have a way to go yet to reach 100% pure food, water and air.

 

And then the mind is occluded by Action Movies and those showing the killing of people as a matter of course for example with the paid assassin James Bond with his license to kill, War Movies, Police Movies, Zombie Movies. The creation of propaganda for killing as a matter of course is the mandate of generals who want a better army as a preparation for war.

 

In this way you can judge the quality of the leaders of a country.

 

Lately the Computer games which routinely mandate killing and bad actions in order to win the game have acted to darken the hearts of many and which act as a preparation for people to man the robot plane drones which kill so many innocent people.

 

This propaganda is not new in the annals of a world where efficient armies are a preparation for war and economic success, where “Greed is Good”.

 

Indeed Alexander the Great had an army where his heroes had an average age of 65 years. And they were so good at killing because the people of the heart had been weeded out of the army through traumatic stress disorder and shame. Only the psychopaths – people with severely blocked hearts - were left.

 

Indeed, no country is totally psychopathic. At least 50% of the people in every country of this world have good hearts, yet depending on the leader and his supporters those with good hearts or those with bad hearts are employed, are in charge.

 

Hitler created the Nazis and put those people in charge of its “Final Solution” in which six million Jews, Homosexuals, Communists and Gypsies were not regarded as Human and therefore could be tortured, experimented on, killed with cyanide gas and incinerated. Any country can choose to use its power in a harmless or an evil way as people exist in any country for Good or for Evil.

 

There was an interesting poll indicating the spread of good hearts when it asked the question, “Is torture justified against terrorists” In general, between 30 and 50% of the populations of many countries said yes to that question. Amnesty International says that 147 countries routinely use torture as a means of population control.

 

So the battle for the hearts of humanity going on in this planet for thousands of years is not in doubt.

 

For thousands of years saints and the enlightened from every religion have been giving advice to all the people as to how to evolve and one of the greatest evolutions of humanity is how to open the heart.

 

Saints and sacred books say, “Thou shalt not kill!”

 

And an open heart can not kill, has Empathy, has Conscience, can not give pain to another living being, is harmless. Understand that this battle is going on within you at this moment. If you want to open your heart, remove the energy blockages from your heart center then understand that the mind is that which can tell you the things to do – Meditation – and not to do in order to open your heart.

 

Only a blocked heart can kill. Saints and sacred books say, “Thou shalt not kill!” There are plenty of people with blocked hearts who can justify their decision to kill, but know that it is your decision to open your heart which provides an opposition to this propaganda of those with evil hearts.

 

If you want to evolve then you need to consciously open your heart.

 

They say that you should not eat food air and water with physical  toxins – pesticides – most food is contaminated with pesticides, steroids and industrial effluent. We should have scientific testing of all food for toxins which we have very little of at the moment. You should eat pure food.

 

They say that you should not eat food with emotional toxins, food associated with the death of living beings which creates negative emotions, heart attacks and cancer within you. You should eat pure food.

 

They say that you should not eat food with mental toxins, food associated with the death of living beings. Sacrifice has been banned for centuries in every Religion as being evil. Alexander the Great sacrificed 500 Bulls every day. So do not be taken in by those who teach, “Make the sacrifice” or with the doctrine of the evil and corrupt Roman Empire and its generals who propagandised, “Dulce et Decoram es Pro Patria More“ – “It is good and sweet to die for your country” You should eat pure food.

 

They say that you should not eat food with mental toxins, book, movie – particularly mixed cable TV fodder - and Computer game food associated with the death of living beings. You should eat pure food of a pure and spiritual nature. Read the books of the Enlightened and watch the movies from our Energy Enhancement list of spiritual movies.

 

For thousands of Years the way to success and profit has been war. And war is a sort of vampirism on the success and riches of others. “It is not enough that I succeed, everyone else must fail” - Gengis Khan. It comes from an ancient mind-set based upon scarcity of resources and the fear of a lack of resources. The artificial boosting of the prices of commodities through fear of scarcity – Scare City Man. This is the Green Politics of the moment.

 

Now we have scientific proof that abundance and riches come only from cooperation and that scientific proof of John Nash the Economist and Mathematician has been awarded the Nobel Prize. Abundance on this planet is associated with cooperation, trade, intellect, scientific advances and the wisdom of the heart. There is potentially more than enough for everyone in the universe.

 

They say that you should not eat food with spiritual toxins spiritual food associated with the auras of bad people as absorbed energy blockages associate with evil teachings and cynicism. Saints say associate only with good people, with the people of the heart, with the Enlightened. You should eat pure food of a pure and spiritual nature.

 

They have been saying that pure positive spiritual energy can only flow and be channeled though a purified body and mind and heart. The spiritual light of the EnLightened can only emanate from a purified physical, emotional, mental and spiritual body. All levels must be purified of their negative energy.

 

And the Symptoms of Enlightenment.. what are they? Why are we doing this?

 

Normal human beings are under the Law of Karma. What they give, so they receive and thus are suffering the consequences of their doings unto the 9^th Generation thus bad luck and trouble, misery and pain. Disease, Old Age and Death as said the Buddha.

 

Well, the next phase of evolution towards which every human being is moving is much more Energy and thus the creation of the Buddhafield. Spiritual Masters graduate as Ascended Masters thus overcoming Life and Death. Happiness, Peace Energy and an Immortal Life. This is the Secret Taoist Alchemy, the Secret of the Golden Flower and So the Flowers Shower, the Perfume of Enlightenment rains down on them and surrounds them.

A MONK ASKED YANG SHAN, "DO PEOPLE THESE DAYS STILL MAKE USE OF ENLIGHTENMENT OR NOT?" YANG SHAN SAID, "THOUGH ENLIGHTENMENT IS NOT ABSENT, NEVERTHELESS IT FALLS INTO THE SECONDARY: DON'T TALK OF DREAMS IN FRONT OF FOOLS." THEN THEY UNDERSTAND THIS LITERALLY AS A REAL DOCTRINE, AND SAY THAT ENLIGHTENMENT IS SECONDARY.

SUCH PEOPLE SCARCELY REALIZE THAT KUEI SHAN HIMSELF HAD A SAYING TO ALERT STUDENTS; INDEED,IT'S VERY COGENT: "ENLIGHTENMENT IS THE STANDARD FOR INVESTIGATING THE ULTIMATE TRUTH THROUGH TO THE END."

WHERE DO THOSE FALSE TEACHERS PUT THESE WORDS? IT'S IMPOSSIBLE THAT KUEI SHAN WAS BRINGING DOUBTS AND ERROR TO LATER PEOPLE BY HAVING THEM FALL INTO THE SECONDARY.

Enlightenment is certainly the key, but almost all the traditions are against it -- and there is a reason why they are against it. The most fundamental reason is that if enlightenment is a reality, God becomes an unreality. If your own illumination is the ultimate, then nothing can be above it. Then man's own consciousness becomes the highest reality.

Religions and traditions believing in God cannot allow enlightenment. It goes against all their fictions. Their fictions can exist only in the darkness, not in the light. To keep their fictions alive, to keep their dreams real, they don't allow human beings to be awake. You don't hear of Christian mystics as enlightened, you don't hear of Jewish mystics as awakened. In fact, enlightenment is the alternative of God.

All that belongs to the ritualistic religions is endangered by enlightenment, because enlightenment has no ritual, it has no prayer, it has no scriptures. It so totally believes in you, its respect for humanity is so absolute and irrevocable... It is natural that all the priests are going to be against it, because the whole profession of the priests depends on fictions, and enlightenment destroys fictions.

All theologies are fabrications of the mind, and enlightenment is a transcendence going beyond the mind. All that belongs to the mind is a nightmare. Where do your gods exist? Where is your heaven, your hell? Where are your angels and your ghosts? They all constitute the entity called the mind.

Enlightenment is the greatest revolution you can conceive of because it destroys all fictions, all rituals, all gods, all traditions, all scriptures. It leaves you with only the essential consciousness of your own being. Its trust in consciousness is so total that there is no need of anything else.

Religions have done so much harm to man that it is unparalleled. Nothing else has been so dangerous. In every possible way they have been preventing man from even hearing the word `enlightenment'. You should not become aware that raising your hands to the sky is stupid -- there is no one to answer your prayers, no prayer has ever been answered.

All your gods are your own creations. You sculpt them, and you never think about it -- that you go on worshipping things which you have created. The Christian BIBLE says, "God created man in his own image." The truth is just the contrary: man has created God in his own image. And then -- the ultimate foolishness -- you worship your own image. In fact, if you were a little intelligent, you could just purchase a mirror and worship.

All your gods are nothing but your own reflections. There is no need to go to a temple or to a church; you can just keep a small mirror. Perhaps ladies are very intelligent about it -- they go on looking again and again in the mirror, they believe in the mirror.

But all your gods are the same, all your rituals are created by crafty priests. None of your scriptures are even first-rate literature; they are very third-class contributions. But just because they are holy... Who makes them holy? There are people who have their vested interests...

It is a long chain from God to the prophets, to the messiahs, to the holy scripture, to the church. But the only reality in this whole long line of fictions is the priest, and his whole effort through the ages has been to exploit you. And not only to exploit -- exploitation is possible only if certain conditions are fulfilled: you have to be made to feel guilty.

Strange ways have been invented to make you feel guilty. The Hindus say that you are suffering, in misery, not because of your stupidities, not because of your unconsciousness, not because of your unmeditativeness, not because you have made no effort to become enlightened, but because of the evil acts you have done in millions of past lives. Now you cannot undo them; there is no way backwards. That burden you have to carry, and under that burden you lose all your dignity, all your pride. All that you can do is pray to God to help you, to save you.

Christians -- because they don't have the idea of many, many lives, but only one life -- cannot use the same strategy. They have found their own strategy: the Hindu is suffering because of millions of past lives; the Christian is suffering because Adam and Eve, faraway, back in the very beginning, disobeyed God. The idea is so farfetched... In what way can I be responsible if Adam disobeyed God?

But Christianity goes on insisting -- and Christianity means half of humanity -- that you were born in sin because your forefathers, Adam and Eve, disobeyed God. You are born of sinners; hence, you are miserable. And you will remain miserable unless you repent and unless you are forgiven. Only the son of God, Jesus, can save you. He is going to plead on your behalf; he is going to be your advocate. You have just to believe in him and at the last day of judgment he will choose the people who believe in him, and will ask God to forgive them. The remainder of humanity is going to fall into eternal hell.

These are great strategies to bring people into the fold of Christianity... because that is the only way to save your future; otherwise there is no hope. Every religion has in some way taken away your beauty, your greatness, has destroyed the very idea that you have any worth, any meaning, any significance, that you have any potential.

Enlightenment is a rebellion against all traditions, against all priests, against all religions, because it declares that there is nothing higher than man's consciousness. And man is not suffering because some stupid man in the past disobeyed a fictitious God; man is not suffering because of millions of lives of evil acts. Man is suffering for the simple reason that he does not know himself. His ignorance about himself is the only cause of his suffering, misery, torture.

Enlightenment brings everything to a very simple and scientific conclusion. It pinpoints that all that you need is to learn the art of awareness.

Ta Hui is right to say that enlightenment is the key, the only key which opens all the realities and all the blessings and all the potentials which have been hidden within you. You are a seed: enlightenment is nothing but finding the right soil and waiting for the spring to come.

Enlightenment is such a radical standpoint.

It is not another religion.

It is the only religion.

All other religions are pseudo.

This word `secondary' has to be understood because it has a context, and without the context you will not be able to grasp the meaning. Gautam Buddha has said, "To experience enlightenment is primary, but to say anything about it is secondary." To know it is fundamental, but to say anything about it -- howsoever articulate, howsoever intelligently worded -- falls into the secondary, into the nonessential. The essential is the experience; the expression is nonessential.

But this is one of the great misfortunes of humanity, that even great truths are destined to be misunderstood by people. What Buddha is saying is one thing; what people hear is another. There is a school which says enlightenment is secondary, and Gautam Buddha himself has said it. Don't be bothered by it. Certainly Gautam Buddha has said it, but he has not said that enlightenment is secondary. He has said that to say anything about it is to go wrong... even the very word enlightenment, and you have gone far away from the experience.

And you know in your ordinary life there are situations... When you see a beautiful rose, is it the same to experience the beauty of the rose and to say that it is beautiful? Can the word `beautiful' contain your experience of the rose? You experience love, but is it possible to say through the word `love' exactly what you experience in the silences of your heart? The love that you experience and the word `love' are not synonymous. The word is not even an echo of your authentic experience. And these are ordinary realities: beauty, love, gratitude.

Enlightenment is the ultimate experience of being one with the whole. There is no way to say it.

Lao Tzu refused his whole life to say anything about it: "You can talk about everything, but don't mention the ultimate experience" -- because he cannot lie, and to say anything about the ultimate truth is a lie.

Gautam Buddha was right, but he was not taking into consideration the stupid people who are always in the majority. He would never have thought that there would be a school quoting him, saying that enlightenment is secondary; the real thing is to worship, the real thing is to pray. Gautam Buddha has denied... His last words were, "Don't make statues of me, because I don't want you to be worshipers, I want you to be buddhas. And a buddha praying before a stone statue is simply ridiculous."

But such is the ignorance of man that the first statues made of any man were those of Gautam Buddha. There had been statues, but those were of fictitious gods. Gautam Buddha is the first historical person whose statues were made, and made on such a great scale that even today he has more statues in the world than anybody else. And the poor fellow had said, "Don't make my statues, because I am not teaching you to worship, I am teaching you to awaken. No worship is going to help; it is simply a waste of time."

But the priest is interested in worship; hence Buddha's words were not taken care of, and priests started making statues. Rituals were created, and he had been fighting for forty-two years continuously against rituals, against temples, against scriptures. Exactly what he had been fighting against was done afterwards -- and done with all good intentions by people who thought they were doing some service to humanity, by people who thought that they were followers of Gautam Buddha.

It is a strange history. Every master has been betrayed, without exception, by his own people in different ways. The betrayal of Judas was very ordinary, superficial. But the betrayal of those who have created statues of Buddha, made temples of Buddha, created scriptures in the name of Buddha, brought everything back against which that man had fought for forty-two years continuously... From the back door everything has come in.

These people say... and they are many, and of many different sectarian ideologies. There are thirty-two buddhist sects in the world, and they all think they are teaching exactly what Gautam Buddha has said. But there are only a few who can be said to have understood Gautam Buddha -- because the only way to understand him is to become him, is to become an awakened being.

Except for that, there is no way to understand Buddha. You cannot study him from scriptures and you cannot persuade him by your prayers. You can be in his company only by being awakened the same way as he was. On those same sunlit peaks of consciousness you will be able to understand him. In other words, the day you understand yourself you will have understood the message of this strangest man who has walked on the earth.

The priests have been trying to misquote him, to distort him, to interpret him for their own interests. THEY CONSIDER ENLIGHTENMENT AS FALLING INTO THE SECONDARY. THEY THINK THAT ENLIGHTENMENT DECEIVES PEOPLE... The fact is, only enlightenment does not deceive people. Except enlightenment, everything in the name of religion deceives people.

... THAT ENLIGHTENMENT IS A FABRICATION... And I say again to you: only enlightenment is the ultimate reality. Other than that, everything else is a fabrication.

All your gods, all your messiahs, all your prophets are nothing but your own imagination, your own projection. They are fulfilling certain needs in you, but those needs are sick. They are providing you with father-figures.

It is not strange that people call God "the father," because everybody feels alone in the world, unprotected. Always death is walking by your side; it can grab you any moment. Life is so insecure and unsafe that you need some insurance, some guarantee. God comes in handy; he is your father. In times of trouble you can always rely on him, although he has never helped anybody.

Even Jesus on the cross is praying. Finally he freaks out and shouts at the sky, "Father, why have you forsaken me?" But still he goes on looking, hoping that God will be coming on a white cloud to save him, with angels playing on their harps, singing "Alleluia!" But not a single white cloud appears.

Jesus can be taken as the greatest example of all those who believe in fictions. He believed too much... The sky is not responsible for his beliefs, and if the sky is not fulfilling his expectations, only he is responsible -- nobody else. He had immense belief, but he was not enlightened; he did not trust. He believed in a God; he believed madly that he was the only son of God.

These very ideas show that the man was a little neurotic. Instead of helping him and giving him the right treatment, there were other idiots who crucified him... but crucifixion is not a treatment. So one sort of idiots crucified him and another sort of idiots, in their imagination, have resurrected him. Now half of humanity is following a man who was a mental case.

But why has he been able to influence so many people? The reason is not that he had a great, convincing philosophy -- he had no philosophy at all! The reason is that humanity at large is also neurotic. It feels very good to believe in Jesus Christ, to believe in God; it creates a protection -- just in your mind. You will be deceived, finally you will be disillusioned, but to be disillusioned at the time of death is meaningless. Then there is no time is left to do anything else.

The people who say that enlightenment deceives people, the people who say that enlightenment is a fabrication, are people who SINCE THEY HAVE NEVER AWAKENED THEMSELVES, THEY DON'T BELIEVE ANYONE HAS AWAKENED EITHER.

It is like blind people who don't believe that there is light -- and there is no way to convince them. Even the greatest logician will not be able to convince a blind man that there is light, because light is not an argument but an experience. You need eyes -- you don't need great philosophical proofs.

If you are deaf, no music exists for you. If you are crippled, it hurts you that somebody else can dance. And if the majority is crippled -- which is the case as far as enlightenment is concerned... If once in a while there is a dancer and millions of people are crippled, they cannot believe that he is real. Maybe he is a dream, maybe an illusion, maybe a magical trick -- but he cannot be real. Their own experience does not support his reality.

The awakened ones have found themselves in utter aloneness in a world where everybody is capable of becoming a dancer, but people have chosen to remain crippled, people have chosen to remain blind. There are people who can exploit you only if you are blind, if you are crippled, if you are deaf, if you are dumb. These parasites are your prophets, these parasites are your priests.

Enlightenment is a rebellion against all these parasites.

THEY SAY, "THE STILL ONE IS THE BASIS." YET THEY DON'T BELIEVE THAT THE ENLIGHTENED ONE EXISTS: THEY SAY THAT THE ENLIGHTENED ONE IS AN OFFSHOOT, AND QUOTE THIS FROM YANG SHAN -- a great master in his own right.

A MONK ASKED YANG SHAN, "DO PEOPLE THESE DAYS STILL MAKE USE OF ENLIGHTENMENT OR NOT?" True to his awakened state of consciousness, YANG SHAN SAID, "THOUGH ENLIGHTENMENT IS NOT ABSENT, NEVERTHELESS IT FALLS INTO THE SECONDARY: DON'T TALK OF DREAMS IN FRONT OF FOOLS."

Now these great masters are bound to be misunderstood. What they are saying is absolutely right, and there is no way to improve upon it -- they are saying it so beautifully. Yang Shan is not denying enlightenment, but neither is he asserting that it exists, because the phenomenon is so big that it cannot be contained in any positive statement.

The moment you make a positive statement, it has already fallen to the state of secondary, non-essential. But who is going to understand him? -- only a man of his own category; otherwise he is bound to be misunderstood.

He says, "THOUGH ENLIGHTENMENT IS NOT ABSENT... He could have said, "Enlightenment exists" -- that's what he is saying, but he is aware that saying anything positively brings limitations. All positive words are limited; hence, out of necessity the awakened ones have used the negatives -- nothingness, nobodiness -- because nothingness has no limits.

Have you ever thought about nothingness? Its beauty is that it has no limits; otherwise it will become something. It is nothing because it has no limits. It does not mean that it is not: it simply means it is so much, limitless. But to understand that nothingness is not negation... it is a way of indicating that which cannot be said by any positive word.

"THOUGH ENLIGHTENMENT IS NOT ABSENT..." Yang Shan will not say it is present, but he can say, "THOUGH ENLIGHTENMENT IS NOT ABSENT, NEVERTHELESS" -- because even to say this much is to go against the ultimate experience and its inexpressibility -- "NEVERTHELESS IT FALLS INTO THE SECONDARY: DON'T TALK OF DREAMS IN FRONT OF FOOLS"... because the fools may take the dreams to be real.

It is better to be silent with the fools; at least they cannot misunderstand. But there are great fools who can even misunderstand your silence... There are so many kinds of idiots in the world; their categories are inexhaustible.

I have heard... A man was dying of AIDS and his gay friends were consoling him, "Everybody who is born has to die." And one of them said, "At least you should be happy that your results are positive."

In his mind, the word `positive' has some value: be happy that you are dying of positive AIDS, not of some negative disease.

THEN THEY UNDERSTAND THIS LITERALLY AS A REAL DOCTRINE AND SAY THAT ENLIGHTENMENT IS SECONDARY.

SUCH PEOPLE SCARCELY REALIZE THAT KUEI SHAN HIMSELF HAD A SAYING TO ALERT STUDENTS; INDEED IT IS VERY COGENT: "ENLIGHTENMENT IS THE STANDARD FOR INVESTIGATING THE ULTIMATE TRUTH THROUGH TO THE END."

WHERE DO THOSE FALSE TEACHERS PUT THESE WORDS? IT IS IMPOSSIBLE THAT KUEI SHAN WAS BRINGING DOUBTS AND ERRORS TO LATER PEOPLE BY HAVING THEM FALL INTO THE SECONDARY.

I will tell you a strange story. You will see everywhere in India people bragging that this is the country of Gautam Buddha. But even the people who are bragging don't know what the brahmins have written about Gautam Buddha.

Of course the man was so charismatic... His teaching was negative: he had no god, he did not believe in consoling you, he was not a man just to give you false pacifications. He called a spade a spade. He was very pragmatic, and committed absolutely to the truth. He denied that the VEDAS are holy -- which was a shock to the whole country, because the country had believed in the VEDAS for centuries. They are the ancientmost scriptures of the world.

But Buddha was so impressive, his personality was such a great argument, his presence was so convincing, that although there were many who wanted to have a dispute with him, they remained silent because they had no guts.

Once he was dead, the Hindus, the priests, wrote a very strange and very ugly story in one of the Hindu PURANAS. They were in a dilemma: what to do with Gautam Buddha? The man does not believe in God -- and you cannot prove that God exists. He does not believe in the VEDAS, that they have anything sacred in them -- and you cannot prove it. He does not believe in your rituals -- he calls them foolish. He is against all kinds of priesthood; he does not want anybody to stand between individuals and existence -- there should be an immediate meeting and communion -- no mediator in between, no commission agents.

The man's influence was great. The brahmins could not say that he was wrong because then they would have to prove it. They could not ignore him either, because the whole country was overwhelmed by his presence. But priests are a cunning race. They created a holy scripture -- invented a story -- that when God created the world he created heaven and hell, and he gave to the devil the charge of hell. But thousands of years passed and nobody reached hell because people were innocent, nobody committed any sin; everybody was going into heaven -- and the devil was bored sitting alone.

Finally he went to God and he said, "What kind of stupidity is this? Why have you created hell? -- just for me? And I am there in charge, but where are the people? Thousands of years of waiting, and not a single customer. I want to resign. You can appoint somebody else."

God persuaded him, "Don't be worried. You go back. I will be born as Gautam Buddha, and I will teach wrong ideologies to people and then they will start falling into hell automatically."

And the story says that since then, since Gautam Buddha, hell is overcrowded. In fact, many people have to wait outside in a queue.

Do you see the cunningness? They accept that Gautam Buddha has the impact of a god, they accept that he has influenced millions of people, but they managed to plant the idea that whoever follows Gautam Buddha -- although he is one of the incarnations of God -- will fall into hell. And slowly, slowly they convinced the people.

After Gautam Buddha's death, within just five hundred years, there was not a single buddhist left in India. Who is going to follow a man, howsoever beautiful he may be, if the ultimate result is going to be hell?

The situation became so strange that in the memorial temple where Gautam Buddha became enlightened -- his lovers had raised a beautiful temple by the side of the bodhi tree under which he was sitting when he became enlightened -- there was not even a single buddhist left to take care of it.

The memorial temple has been in the possession of a brahmin family for almost two thousand years. Even today the temple is the possession of a brahmin family. They don't believe in Buddha, but there was no other way... no buddhist was left. Even the tree under which Buddha had become enlightened was destroyed by the Hindus -- and these are the so-called religious people. The tree that exists today is not the original tree; it is one of the branches of the original tree.

It was just a coincidence that King Ashoka sent his daughter, Sanghamitra, who had become a sannyasin of Gautam Buddha, to Sri Lanka to spread the message. He sent with her a branch of the bodhi tree. And the bodhi tree is a strange tree, in a way it is an eternal tree: it never dies unless you destroy it, because from every branch new roots go on growing. It is a tree of its own kind. Those new roots go into the earth, so around the tree many children of the tree start growing. The tree can become so big that thousands of people can sit under it, because it goes on and on spreading its new generations. Even if the old original tree dies, its descendants will still be alive.

So that branch was brought to Sri Lanka by Sanghamitra, and it was planted there. Sanghamitra must have been a great, an impressive woman; she converted the whole of Sri Lanka to Buddhism. And when the original tree was destroyed, just when India became free, a branch from Sri Lanka was brought back. It is a descendant that is now in the place where the original tree must have been.

Buddhists were killed, burned alive. Those who could, escaped out of India, and that's how China became Buddhist, Korea became Buddhist, Taiwan became Buddhist, Japan became Buddhist, Burma became Buddhist, Thailand became Buddhist. The whole East turned towards Gautam Buddha, except his own land. India became absolutely without any influence of Gautam Buddha. The old priests came back, the VEDAS became again holy. Old, meaningless rituals again became significant.

There have been people in the world who could have transformed humanity, but there are so many parasites who would not like you to become enlightened because your enlightenment means their profession is destroyed.

Enlightenment is the very essence of human dignity, human grandeur. It is certainly the key, as Ta Hui is saying. It is the golden key. And for anybody in the world who really wants to be religious, except enlightenment there is no other way.
