Appearance and Reality, 1897, by F.H. Bradley is an interesting work that is often appraised in non-dual discussions even though F.H. Bradley was British and probably never had heard of non-duality or any eastern traditions dealing with these problems. F.H. Bradley was known to be reclusive and had a reputation for shooting cats. But at some point in his life, he must have come to some sort of spiritual realization. His main analysis is similar to Shankara´s:
The world of our ordinary experience turns out upon inspection to be contradictory, so it can’t be fully and finally real; what is fully and finally real is a non-dual Absolute in which all those apparent contradictions are resolved through that very non-duality.

Appearance and Reality by FH Bradley
Bradley’s Regress from Appearance and Reality explained:
This is exactly what my theories about perception is, but i called mine “premature emotional reaction” , i didn’t even know someone had already thought of this things until i did a research here on Google. i’m an artist(painter) that’s why i came up with my theory about human perception to find out what makes an art effective, cause i wasn’t sure if i would do a detailed painting or or just the feelings or impressions. Thanks
I read this in 1972 and was very much impressed by it. Although Bradley himself calls it an essay, it really contains an almost full-blown system. It’s not only worth reading, it’s a good idea to have a copy for future reference.
Thank you very much!!
