Joyful Parents, Successful Children by Lama Thubten Zopa Rinpoche was published in 2015. It contains guidance for Buddhist parents on parenthood, but it does not only provides the Dharma context for how children should be brought up but also contains many helpful suggestions of how we can introduce simple Dharma practices to our children. Rinpoche explains exactly how parents should go about planning how to raise their children, by teaching their children how to generate a good heart and the Seven Foundations for Happiness and Peace (kindness, rejoicing, patience, forgiveness, apologising, contentment and courage) and by guiding them in virtuous actions while they are still young.

About Buddhistic parenthood
Some characteristics that are commonly associated with Buddhist parents include a focus on mindfulness and compassion, a commitment to fostering a sense of inner peace and contentment in their children, and an emphasis on teaching their children the values and principles of the Buddhist faith. Many Buddhist parents also strive to provide their children with a supportive and loving environment in which they can grow and develop.
