Purva Mimamsa is one of the most important ancient texts of Hinduism. The Purva Mimamsa Sutras were written by Rishi Jaimini (ca. 300–200 BCE) forms the first philosophical system of Hinduism. It is the foundation of Vedanta and even the first Hindu laws. The aim of Purva Mimamsa is to provide a systematic way for understanding and applying the oldest parts of the Vedas in order to obtain dharma or enlightenment.
