Sankhya Philosophy, Samkhyakarikais, is based on the translation of the original work in Sanskrit, Sankhya Karika, which is the earliest surviving work of authority on the subject. The Vedic text deals with a number of philosophical problems such as suffering, happiness, perception, knowledge and it brings forth an entire philosophy of causation. Wikipedia has en exellent article about Samkhyakarika here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samkhyakarika and Samkhya here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samkhya.
