
Tao Teh King. Here is the classic Tao work ‘The Tao Teh King’ by Lao-Tse in the James Legge translation. Tao Teh King is also known as Laozi and it is suggested that the book origins from the late 4th century BCE. The name, Tao Teh King, can be translated in a number of ways from the Chinese original text. It might mean “the way”, “personal vurtue”, “ethics” or “personal power”. In popular western culture Tao Teh King has been widely used as a self analysis and decision making tool. From the book:
Always without desire we must be found,
If its deep mystery we would sound;
But if desire always within us be,
Its outer fringe is all that we shall see
