EGO, ATTACHMENT, MIND, SOUL, AND SPIRIT.

We need to seek, understand, and realise our soul and The Universal Spirit. In so doing we can avoid the hell of a totally selfish ego-motivated life full of pain, sorrow, confusion, insanity, anger, greed, lust, disappointment, suffering, old age and death. We can also answer those nagging questions of the human experience which we all know to be:

  1. "Who am I?"
  2. "What am I doing here? What is the meaning of my life?"

The answer to both questions is within the realm of the soul and the Universal Spirit. Been ignorant or deluded about this realm of the human experience will mean that we cannot answer those two most important questions.

The Enlightened inform us from their direct experience that the Spirit is the Eternal watcher, pure, unalloyed, blissful consciousness, the One same unified awareness behind all the variety and diversity, within all things and behind every soul. Everywhere and everything, all name and form, all time and place, is an expression of The One Universal Spirit.

They call this Universal Spirit many different names. The names do not matter but the realisation and experience of it does. That's the important thing. Because after we have realised and experienced the soul, we can go higher and realise and experience the Spirit. At this point our identification is no longer limited to any of the expressions of the Universal Source. Even the soul which we have been striving for is realised as another name and form - another bit of mindstuff.

When we reach up to the Spirit our identity becomes as one with God. We realise the Whole thing! That's when we get Holy! That's what the mystics mean when the say things like "My Father and I are One." They are expressing the Union with the whole of existence. They have left no stone unturned and they have found THE ULTIMATE IDENTITY.

This is what the Swamis and Enlightened Beings mean when they say "Knowing doesn't change."

The wave is not the ocean, but the ocean is all the waves. In the same manner, the soul is but a drop in the Ocean of Eternity and Infinity - the One Universal Spirit.

 

THE SOUL PLAYS MANY WORDLY ROLES

The Universal One plays The Game of Human life. It creates us and then plays all the roles and has all the experiences on the great stage of life.

Then we, the players, often forget about The Universal One and then life becomes a nightmare.

That is why Paramahansa Yogananda tells us that:

"Life with God is fun, but life without God is everything but fun."

We are the players, God is the experiencer and the Director. How could the infinite "I" - the One Spirit - be limited to only one role? It can't. The Spirit is Everything. The One Spirit is the Absolute Identity of everything. Trouble, arrogance, and conceited pride is experienced when a soul becomes a little egotistical and makes claims like "Oh, I did it", "I invented it", and "I discovered it."

Becoming aware of egoism and how the selfish and disconnected ego works is all part of each soul's journey. So that's ok too!

As we learn more about the soul, the ego, the seven major chakra, the gunas, the doshas, and the One Universal Spirit, then we begin to light a candle in the darkness. We get to illuminate our ignorance with the lamp of Enlightenment. We move out of and beyond this terrible ignorance and we become lighter, happier, more loving, wiser, more beautiful, more capable, more skilled, and eventually we become a great soul player on the stage of life.

 

DETACHMENT IS NOT BEING ALOOF.

Soul realisation helps us to get into the part that the we are playing on the stage of life. It is essential to realise, control, and eliminate the selfish ego - the common enemy of us all, that damned selfish imposter! When we realise our soul then all the egotistical nonsense and ignorance begins to leave us automatically. It simply drops away. 

Soul realisation helps us overcome any negative attachment that the ego has created concerning the seven chakras of the human experience:

  1. Our Physical body. It's just an instrument of the soul!
  2. Our Sexual Energy, Partnership Relationships, and Families.
  3. Our occupational, professional, and social activity and any names and titles that we take too seriously!
  4. Our friends, family, and other loved ones, and our emotions and feelings.
  5. Our communications and creativity.
  6. The thinking process and the imagination.
  7. The relationship with the Spiritual side of life.

Every soul is a great expression of Love because God makes us all great. Every ego is rubbish because egoism by it's very nature is the ultimate negative and Alpha human experience.

Selfishness never works.

AT ONE WITH LIFE
