Cakṣurvijñāna (P. cakkhuviññāṇa; T. mig gi rnam par shes pa མིག་གི་རྣམ་པར་ཤེས་པ་; C. yanshi 眼識) is translated as "eye consciousness," "visual consciousness," etc.
The eye consciousness arises through contact (sparsa) between visible forms and the eye faculty.
The eye consciousness perceives/congnizes visible forms.
The eye consciousness (cakṣurvijñāna) is identified as:
- one of the five types of consciousness that percieves the five sense objects
- one of the six types of consciousness
- one of the eighteen dhatus
