Jihvāvijñāna

Jihvāvijñāna (P. jivhāviññāṇa; lce'i rnam par shes pa ལྕེའི་རྣམ་པར་ཤེས་པ་; C. sheshi 舌識) is translated as "tounge consiousciousness," "gustatory consciousness," etc.

The tongue consciousness arises through contact (sparsa) between tastes and the tongue faculty.

The tongue consciousness perceives/congnizes tastes.
